23rd535 Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks fellas. I had a 535 before about 2 years ago, got it for a band i was in for a while, sold it to pay for school/get a cheaper guitar and have missed it since. One of those damn that was the worst decision ever! regrets.... but, had to be done. I've got pics of it somewhere... Was a more tobacco color with dots, this one sure looks nicer let's hope it plays and sounds as well!
CJTopes Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I almost bought that 23rd aniv. 535 off of TGP. Something about it just didnt look right.
23rd535 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Oh, hmm, looked great to me. Spoke to the seller, he has a lot of very high dollar guitars and amps for sale/trade at very reasonable values elsewhere on TGP. Just me, I guess but I think it looks good. What didn't you like about it?
CJTopes Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 What didnt I like about it?.......I didnt like that it wasn't a Millie DC Thats what I wound up getting. I passed on the 535 style because I already have a Gibby 335 and really wanted a smaller semi hollow. If I remember right that axe has Seth Lovers in it and I really liked that it had block inlays. The only thing I didn't like was that there was a little too much red in the finish. But that's all personal preference. If it were the OSB I dont know if I could have turned it down.
23rd535 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Oh ok, sheesh! I thought you were told some information I hadn't been told by the owner or something! Hah! Had me goin' for a second there! Yeah the finish is definitely different than my older vintage sunburst 535 but I agree, I like the block inlays over my former fot-inlay 535. PLus I do want back into a 535! Different strokes for different folks

23rd535 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Congratulations from a another Heritage owner in Maryland that looks great.. love the color on it....let us know how she sounds when you get it!!! Thanks! I played my other 535 at the 8x10 in Baltimore with my old band a couple times, loved that guitar so much! This new, prettier one should be waiting for me at home when I get back from work. I'll post some pictures and my initial feedback when I test her out!
