GuitArtMan Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I was going to email Michael Tuttle of Best Frets to see when I could expect my guitar back when the doorbell rang and it was FedEx delivering my baby back to me! Some close ups of the frets: http://home.san.rr.com/renkluaf/Frets1.jpg[/img] Notice the rounded fret ends. This is one of Michaels trademarks. http://home.san.rr.com/renkluaf/Frets2.jpg[/img] You can see the rounded fret ends a little better in this photo. http://home.san.rr.com/renkluaf/Frets3.jpg[/img] That's a hair over 3/64" at the 12th fret. Buzz free. I may actually raise it just a tad to about 4/64" as I prefer just a little tension on the strings when I bend. Gotta go play her some more!!! ;D
doggy1972 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Niiiiice fret job. The best Ive seen I think. They look more like chrome bumpers than frets.Well done.
Thundersteel Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Awesome fretwork! I've never seen rounded ends on frets before--very nice!
Dick Seacup Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 You know, the nibs are cool and all, but those fret ends are the way a top end instrument should be delivered. They look fan-freaking-tastic!
Gitfiddler Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Excellent fret work! They do in fact look like sausages. Now I'm hungry again. Um, and what is that hairy thang in your first photo! Was Big Foot holding your guitar's neck for the shot? ???

Paul P Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 You probably just doubled Mr Tuttle's business with these photographs Paul
GuitArtMan Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 You probably just doubled Mr Tuttle's business with these photographs Paul I hope so for a number of reasons: 1. He's good - he deserves the work. 2. As his reputation for his own guitars grows (which I've yet to play one btw) I hope he will continue to take on re-frets as well. Well at least my re-frets!!! ;D 3. As his reputation and prices grow, I hope he may cut me a deal or two! It aint cheap gettin' these geetars re-fretted!
brentrocks Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 that looks wonderful...i'd like to see the rest of the guitar...LOL!!!

Dick Seacup Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Both are nice. I wonder if they'd make a 535 with a wraptail, and if so, what tonal/feel difference that would make.
