...Hi Guys (been awhile)...Any of you Michigan members see that used H 150 CM at Guitar Center in K'zoo? It's not there anymore, BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT IT!!! It will go nicely with my 575 Custom (and all of my other guitars)...sorry, just a tad bit excited. Although this guitar needs a good set up, it is still very nice. Are there any threads here about pickup adjustment...whoever traded this in, had the bridge pickup way off the strings...I adjusted them closer, but I'm not sure exactly what height I should keep them at. I used my Les Paul as a guide and it definitely seems to have helped. Anyway, greetings to all...see ya!

A guitar that needs a set-up doesn't scare me.... and it's part of the reason you got such a good deal on it...

Congrats and Happy New Guitar Day....!!!!

About the pick-up adjustments.... I remember yoslate giving some sage advise on adjusting a 575... I can't say if it applies to you.. http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/i...ic=5958&hl=

Thanks Fred...I remember seeing that thread also...I have raised the neck p/u and it improves the sound. You just need to be careful when you are playing a high E. The biggest prob. with this guitar is that the tailpiece is all out of whack. The intonation is fine...seems that somebody who didn't quite know what they were doing set this up originally. I leave it to the experts. I will take to my friends at Bluesairmen...they do a set up for $25.00. This guitar is quite amazing with a wax job.

Hi Tim - That's a spectacular 575 in your avatar. I communicated with the former owner thinking it was a spruce top before deciding to have one made. And now you have the 150 too. Congrats! I'm curious to hear the Throbaks. What do you think of them?

Bluesairmen sound like a shop I should get to know. Are they good guys?

Hey Guys...an update to my December 3 post (as soon as I can find the camera, I'll have pics). Took my latest family addition in to have it set up and fret-dressed. Just got it back and I'm happily impressed :D The action was lowered considerably (to Gibson specs), frets re-dressed, pickup ring replaced, and this guitar looks stunning now (quite a difference from the way it looked at K'zoo GC where I bought it). Can't play it 'till later though (I've got to work

Not sure what that means - to Gibs specs. But congrats on getting a dandy guitar. At a dandy price. The '59s should be killer in that guitar.

I'm glad you've had it set-up...you are ready to enjoy now..

I have a 150 w '59's and am quite happy with it. Seems like most of my guitars (any brand) I've had to do a set-up on (the action and truss rod, but not frets) I feel like I've now managed to get pretty good at it. gallery_1051_3_117962.jpg

Well, as the guitar is close to LP specs, my technician simply used their numbers...the guitar plays much better than it did with the fret dress.

I should preface..my last comment...with the fret dress, the guitar plays much better than it did...

Ah!! Okay, see what you mean. Had a 157 with '59s. It was a dandy guitar. Just a bit too heavy, weight wise. Glad to hear yours is playing like you like it! B)
