H-535 Arrival

My new 535 arrived safe and sound from its cross country journey. I am very impressed and happy!

It's a 2007 that was advertised as a "mint new demo" by 8th Street Music in Philly. Their description was spot on as I cant find a flaw on it. Excellent workmanship and a beautiful instrument. Finish is vintage sunburst.

Pups are Duncan 59's. I am enjoying these pickups through my Fargen Blackbird. They provide a nice range of tones from a mellower jazz sound (like Fly Me to the Moon) to a more jangly alt country (like Son Volt's Jukebox of Steel) to rock (like Neil Young's Rockin' in the Free World).

Neck is a nice medium to larger carve with a nut width just a bit over 1 & 11/16" and neck depth of .864" at the first fret (fretboard to back of neck) and .994" at the 12th. I would desribe the shape as "D-ish" which works well for the size of my hands.

Thanks again to everyone here at the HOC. The information and advice I read on this site were key to my decision to purchase a Heritage.

And now, for some pics!

Vvvveryyy Nice.

Great Looking 535 there.

I find the '59's to be a versatile pickup also. A good choice .

The thicker necks give me a nice vintage vibe also..

Congrats on the great find.

And thanks for the pics...

Thanks guys!

Just had a nice session playing with my son. Only problem, he's having a serious case of guitar envy and wants to trade me for his Squire Tele.

I told him what any good father would tell his son; NO WAY MAN! ;)

The only solution is to buy that boy a Heritage!!!

Just what I need, "but dad, the guys at the Heritage owners club say I should have one!"

Hmmm, but I guess if I picked up a nice used 575 I could let him play the 535 ...

Wow, for a club with no dues this place sure is expensive! ;)
