575 maple top vs 575 spruce top

1. Does anyone have a 575 spruce top?

 

2. I know what the differences between spruce & maple are supposed to sound like, but I was curious if the maple tops give a nice warm jazzy tone or if you have to order a spruce top to get the jazzy sound.

Kuz - I have two mahogany 575s and one custom. The mahoganies have spruce tops, the custom has maple top. The difference between them is quite subtle. Probably best left up to the player to discern. It takes me considerable play-time to get to that level where I notice a difference; YMMV. Musically, I'm not jazz oriented but the different guitars lead to to different genre. The spruce trend toward songs that require more of an acoustical guitar sound (as do my Eagles).

did you get it? i have a 575 mahonagy with a spruce top, but i am considering an all maple 575 custom. any thoughts on your recent experience? my mahogany/spruce is pretty close to perfect with the benedeto b6 pickup i installed. the custom 575 has HRWs. any insight would be appreciated. i am a jazz player for the most part.
