Heritage on TV a long time ago!

My dad got a new big screen TV last week, so he started pulling out his old VHS tapes to watch. So, when I stopped in yesterday, he was watching a tape of "Nashville Now" from the old TNN network. This was from 1991.

Imagine my surprise when it goes to Hank Thompson. I look at the screen, see the headstock and say "That's a Heritage". Looked like a Super Eagle, and had his name in the fretboard like a true country picker is supposed to have!

So for the next 30 minutes, I was looking to see what other "different" guitars I could see. Other than the normal Fenders and Gibson, I saw Mosrite which is odd, and what looked like a Benedetto.

Anyway, it was cool seeing one on TV, even if it was 18 years later.

It was about the same year when a buddy called and said, "turn the channel to HeeHaw." There was Roy Clark playing a black 150 just like the one I owned. Mr. Walker told me that they had made 2 and Roy chose the other. I just thought it was the guy at the factory blowing smoke but there was Roy.......

Nashville Great Fred Newell was a regular on that show, playing pedal steel & elec. Geetar. Fred's weapon of choice for most of that show was an Emerald Green Heritage H140 with a sequened green strap. Fred also owned a Golden Eagle and some others. He's a nice guy & monster player.
