tbonesullivan Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 yeah.. when I mean back in the days I mean WAAAAYYYY back. Also, PRS now makes many guitars with Nitro finishes, mostly to cater to the vintage guitar lovers. Haven't heard any reviews on those, but I do not like PRS's necks, at all.
smurph1 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I've played a couple different PRS models..didn't bond with either..didn't like the pickups..too high output for my taste..My 2 cents..(Hey I got a raise!)
yoslate Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 To answer your question... 1. ********** 2. Let the Wife in on your plans... 3. ********** 4. ********** 5. ********** Sad.... And ironic.... #2 is the only thing standing between me and another 150...despite the fact we had a brief conversation about "the next last new guitar" back in early November, when she read my mind ( no kidding, she did!), and I thought she rendered tacit approval. She's said a couple of things recently which lead me to believe if I broach the subject just now.... There's really fabulous stock WWII footage of a B-17, which, trailed by a Messerschmitt, has its right wing shot off at the fuselage, heels to port, then plummets earthward, trailing ten-thousand feet of black plume. That would be me...augering in.
brentrocks Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I've been drooling over a used H150 at Wolfe guitars all day. How do I prevent myself from buying it? http://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-h150cm-...hree-tone-burst did you call on the price?

tbonesullivan Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 well... i've gotta wait until at least the last guitar I bought arrives. then we'll see.
hiro Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Plays on his new Heritage H150. "I love this guitar."
tbonesullivan Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 ack.! being tempted. dangit when is my hamer going to get here.
Millennium Maestro Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 ack.! being tempted. dangit when is my hamer going to get here. QUIT YOUR SNIVELLING... BUY IT!!!
JeffB Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 ack.! being tempted. dangit when is my hamer going to get here. You have sustained GAS for quite a length of time. Must be hurting about now to not have released it.
tbonesullivan Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 'at a boy... I mean.. it's a TRI BURST. You don't see those every day. And it's ready to go. The stock grovers have been replaced with grover locking tuners, it's got schaller locking buttons installed. even if it doesn't have the ends I've got an extra pair.
mars_hall Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 8 days. Thats pretty hard going. I know. He should probably try to limit it to one, or two days at the most, before he gives in
tbonesullivan Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 yeah... thankfully I had some distractions. but now I'll have my own H150, and one that doesn't look like everyone else's. the knobs are a great touch too. I just ordered some setup equips for my guitars to make it easier on me getting good relief and action. Gotta set up a few guitars so they play like buttahhhh.
tbonesullivan Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 it's here... sitting in it's case in the office while the temperature equalizes. I looked at it for a few seconds, and there are like 2-3 rim dings. I may just get some brown (it looks like brown) touch up for the edges, or just leave it as is. they are hardly noticable, unless you are looking. the top on this thing is amazing. it's wavy, but not really flamey. and the finish color is just great. I can't wait to get it plugged in. Only minus is that whoever sold it to wolfe didn't give them the schaller locks that go on the strap. Thankfully, I have some. I also will probably screw out the locking buttons to check the holes, and also to put some white felts on them. THey currently have black felts, and somehow a White felt seems more.. appropriate?? with the cream binding and everything.
FredZepp Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 that is excellent , you've got a sweet 150 for a bit of variety. I just checked the pics again, and really nice look to that one....
tbonesullivan Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 now I'm trying to decide if I even bother trying to repair the 2-3 dings on the rim, or just living with it. how much does getting a tech to drop fill a dent cost? I'm not interested in "like new" just making them appear a little btter. But man.. it's a beauty. The case is in great shape... not kinda moldy looking/smelling like my 535 case is. And yes, it weighs a lot, just like a LP style guitar should.
FredZepp Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I can't say on the repair cost , but it would have to be negligible . But probably not necessary either. I'm sure you'll get some opinions when we see it... but it can't be too drastic really. Enjoy your first first jam with the new axe...!!!
yoslate Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Congrats on the new plank, tbone! A nice one it is! And the knobs do look good on that one! I, too, have a Sunsetburst 150. Very cool finish! Enjoy!
big bob Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 a dent will be raised with a iron (heat) and then the lacquer repaired. depending on how hard it is to match color probably not too much. 100-200 for both!
