jjkrause84 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Howdy! I'm a newcomer here and have my heart set on a 535. What I'm hoping for is essentially a copy of te 335 shown below. I am soliciting any and all 535 pictures available and I really hope some of you have a "walnut" finish so I could see how those turned out. Thank you very much in advance!

Go to the Gallery here and put 535 in the search field

There is at least one such walnut finish 535. It was owned by a HOC member and then sold, on TGP I think, and re-sold also on TGP. I don't think the original owner posts here any more. There was also one with a gold top and walnut back and sides posted a few weeks back in the Baywatch section of the forum. Good luck with your hunt.

Better yet, why not send that pic to Jay Wolfe of Wolfe Guitars and see what he can do to for you? I bet he'll be able to help. I think Heritage's comparable color would be 'burnt amber', but I could be wrong. Good hunting.!
mark555 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Hi and welcome. Why not get a custom order from the factory? You could have the finish, block inlays and end up with a guitar that is far better than a current 335, with what ever choice of pick up you want, and I bet it would come in at least no more expensive than a stock 335 you could pick up at any store. Also, the finish would look far superior on a flame top than the illustration you posted shows in the example there. Hope you get what you are looking for, remember pictures are mandatory!

Oh I do hope to custom order when I have the money. I all honesty it won't be for some time now. I'm just wrapping up my PhD and so I need to finish that and start working before I have 535-type money available. I just joined up here to start slowly learning about these guitars and the people who play them (and maybe look at a few graphic images along the way.... ) To me, the example I showed is IT. I like the down-to-earth simplicity of its look and think that flame would ruin it. Then again, that's just me.
JeffB Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 That walnut 335 reminds me of Caleb Followill's(Kings of Leon) 325. I dont have any pics to offer up but, yeah that walnut finish does look great. Welcome to the HOC.
