Adding a bigsby to an H170

Hello good people,

I’ve juts got hold of my first Heritage and I’m a convert; such a great guitar! It’s an H170, and I’m thinking of adding a Bigsby. Now, I know Bigsbys aren’t for everyone, but does anyone know which one would be right for the H170?

I prefer the look of the B7, but the H170 is about 1cm thinner in the body than a G brand Les Paul, so this could be an issue. And, if I used the B5, the body is curved, so I don’t think that will work either.

Any thoughts?

re: 'tonesucking'

I've heard plenty of guitarists that could benefit from a little 'tonesucking'. It would benefit all of us if there was a lot more 'tonesucking'

that said, I'm thinking about takin my Bigsby off my 158, which is a B5 , I believe.

Thanks for the responses – you Heritage owners are a friendly bunch. And now that I’ve joined this cult, I will be sure to post some pics.

Just to share, I’m also going to switch the pick-ups on my H170. I’m a P90 freak, so I think I’m going to go for a Mississippi Queen (by Bare Knuckle Pickups) or a Phat Cat in the bridge and a Mule (also BKP) in the neck.

And as for the Bigsby, maybe I’ll add that to my Gibson Les Paul and leave the H170 be… that should ward off those accusations of tone-sucking for a while!

Tonesucker: reference by one of our esteemed members who loves the bigsby on his H170. His name for it. FYI.
