james Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 A mod suggested by mapleflame, a member at the LPF. The idea is to further Stainless Steel bridge posts into the body of the guitar for tonal change/improvement. I've done it with my R8 with good result, but am yet to try on my H150 CM Classic.
GuitArtMan Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Your R8 has an ABR-1 style bridge as do most of the "high end" Gbrand guitars. This has the bridge post going directly into the wood of the guitar face. Heritage uses a Nashville style bridge and the bridge posts go into threaded anchors which are inserted into the face of the guitar. The "mapleflame" trick wont work on a Heritage. ABR-1: Nashville:
Spectrum13 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I have an ABR-1 locking bridge on my Prospect. When it was built, heritage installed the faber SS conversion posts but the sent it with a tonepros Nashville. I decided OSB finish needed a gold bridge an tail. When I'm home during a warm sunny day, I'll take a photo. I had some observations on the change over.
mars_hall Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 If I understand what you are saying, you are "bottoming out" the threaded posts into the body. A pair of right-sized (length/thread/diameter) set screws under the Nashville posts can accomplish similar results.
