skydog52 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I made a early trip to pick up this. More pics to follow. Have to go to work to pay for it.
Doug Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Wow, thats a really nice looking axe. Love the finish and the tailpiece. That's a keeper.
yoslate Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Great concept, Skydog! I had a 1962 Guild 125-T (but single Florentine cutaway) in that finish. Yours is reminiscent. That's a beautiful and unique piece you have there...very, very cool guitar! Congrats!
Administrator Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 You should name it, "Dusk Ruby." Seriously, though, that's a great looking guitar. I love the bail tail piece and the finished f-holes put it right over the top. Excellent attention to detail on spec'ing that out!
golferwave Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Now that's one fine lookin axe! I'm thinking about the same model. Congrats!
FredZepp Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 TONE MACHINE !!!!! Really nice ... that one is a looker...
Kuz Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 As a man who has 3 Heritages with Lollar p-90s, trust me you are going to LOVE that guitar!!!! And I love the finish!

Cool, I've been interested in the 530s since they were announced. IMO this should be Heritage's niche, making the classic McCarty era Gibbie models, but without the cost cutting that mass production demanded at the time. In other words, "Heritage-better than vintage!" Pics are nice, but really interested in a tone report. Plus, why did you choose the 530 over the 525? Unlike Kuz, I only have one Lollar-equiped Heritage: my pimped out P-90 575. The Heritage/Lollar combos create a fantastic single-coil sound. Congrats,
slider313 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 That's a beauty! I can almost hear the slide licks to the live Stones' version of "Love in Vain".

fxdx99 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 A beauty! That's one NICE finish and w/the P90s expect it's gonna be just too much fun. Congrats!
pegleg32 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Beautiful beautiful guitar. Reminds me of the Gibby 330 I had in the 60's - best sound I ever had (except too much feedback for what I was playing)- but not nearly as lovely as yours. That is just outstanding!!
skydog52 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Posted January 20, 2010 A few more pics and then I play all night with the new toy.
skydog52 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Posted January 20, 2010 Having trouble downloading pictures. Will continue to try. Thanks to everyone for all your comments. She's a keeper. Once again Heritage made a beauty. I had a real nice visit with Bill and Marvin while I was there. Marvin showed me the calendar that was sent to him by I think High Flying Bird. Nice job on that, Marv really liked it. I got there about 7:45 so things were just getting underway. Marv seemed to see a little uptick in orders so he was encouraged with that and expects more orders from across the pond. Especially after NAMM show. Good news. I ordered a Sweet 16 in early November and expected a pretty long wait. I asked Bill if he had seen it go through and he disappeared for a few minutes and he comes back with it. It's not quite done but close. Looks like I might be back up there soon. I never tire of visiting Parsons St. Going to go play now. Play em til you fingers are sore!
Gitfiddler Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Congrats on the H530!! Can't wait for a full tone report on that one. I've been torn between the 525 and 530 and wish I had the chance to play each before ordering. I like the single Florentine cutaway of the 525, but dig the extra frets up the neck on the 530!!
ronalr Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Man that is a looker...just beautiful...congratulations...and looking forward to a sound review!!!
Steiner Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Dog! That is sweet! What are you going to power her through? Pardon me for asking; what are the first two characters in your serial number? After a few threads a much speculation about the new, post "Z" serial; I just have to know! Thanks. Love her!

tulk1 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 It's a Z serial no. You had them do the stinger? Very nice!
mark555 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 It's such a pleasure to see something so individual, and has already been pointed out, with that vintage vibe. I have come to the conclusion that just because a guitar is "vintage" it is better than a new guitar. I think guitars like this are showing that argument to be incorrect. While I am well aware that there are some beautiful vintage guitars that play wonderfully, I don't think any one here would have any worries about a new Heritage being just as nice as the older stuff and in many cases a lot better. +1 to Skydog and all others who go for something so individual.
