jjkrause84 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Whoa! VERY cool, I'm jealous! I was especially shocked at the forest green back of the guitar....I don't know which side I like better!

chico Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Hang on to that one long enough to show us at PSP Brent, that figure on the top is awesome. Also, with regard to the weight, interesting that the wood varies that much, say from 8-10lbs. Is it moisture content? I wonder what the resonance is like played next to a 10lb-er. Anyway, like I say, great snag. And good call on the 10s

Anyway, like I say, great snag. And good call on the 10s Wood weight varies from where on the tree the piece was taken (i.e. at a branch crotch vs straight trunk) and with the amount of moisture the tree received while growing. Wood is denser at a branch junction and when grown during dry years
blueox Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Looks like somebody got itchy fingers waiting for a certain H-137 to arrive. Congrats on your Blue Moon.

brentrocks Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 i'm not liking the 59s in the Blue OX....thinking about some HRWs and some 500k pots in it. the 59s are really trebbly...too much highs

I have 59s in a 535 and my 575 and neither are what I would call trebly sounding instruments. I also have HRWs in the VIP II and the Millie and I find those to be a lot brighter with more power.
hiro Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Saw the first set .. . nice . . . *head nod* then WOW *turns heads* need to learn how to set up an electric . . . my H was already set up perfectly . . . but something I should learn . . .

They have alnico IV magnets but I can swap in a set of alnico II's for a warmer tone with less magnetic pull.
smurph1 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Seems some Robert Johnson may be in order..(or maybe some T-bone Walker?) Enjoy!!
