tbonesullivan Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 So, today my lazy butt finally got around to plugging in the H150CM and properly putting it through it's paces. It's perfectly set up, strings are new, so it plays like a winner. Played a bunch of clean stuff through my Carvin X-100b series IV (amp of choice currently). Nice and chimey. Then I put it onto the drive/lead channel. OH MY GOD!!!! I don't know whether it's the LP-style construction, the sheer weight of it, or the 59 pickups, but all that came out of my amp was pure meaty smoothness, with tons of sustain, and just great sound. It wasn't boomy/airy like a semi-hollow, or spanky like a single coil, or mid-heavy like my SG. It was just pure tonal goodness with sustain until the cows come home. Now I finally realize the true magic of the les paul style guitar, and the true magic that comes out of the Kalamazoo factory. Of course, I won't be selling any of my other guitars, because sometimes you don't want smooth and meaty, sometimes you want the growl and snarl of an SG, or a Hamer Studio, or my Carvin CT6M. Anyway, now to go put some ice on my fingers. they be sore.
mark555 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 lets see the pictures....! Yes, a Les paul or even better, a 150, just has that something special. Must be all that mahogany and maple cap - no wonder I am desperate to own one....
tbonesullivan Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 I'll have to take a picture with the amp soon, but unfortunately my basement is currently flooded with junk as we're having replacement windows put in. Here's the picture Wolfe guitars had up for it: If possible, it looks BETTER in person. It also weighs possibly more than my all-maple carvin V220 from the 80s. Now THAT takes talent.

HOC'rs be warned, a cranked 150 will blow the glass right out. Wow, that is one purty 150.
JeffB Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Hmmmmm buttery goodness. big gobs of thick, chewy tonal goodness. Almost feel moved to Haiku. Hey what do you know I have.
High Flying Bird Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 It's a looker T-bone. I don't own a 150 but I can put my hands on one every so often. They are very versatile for a solid body.
FredZepp Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Yes, it is those moments of Tonal Epiphany that keep me coming back to The Heritage. I have them on all of my Heritage beauties at one time or another...!!!
