Kuz Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Just my opinion, but I like HRWs in archtops only, not so much in solid bodies or semis. I have a 575 custom with seth lovers and I am sure the HRWs would be a better choice. But I would prefer the Seths in a solid body.

But guess I'll never know ............ The HRWs that were in my Millie NFH were a tad bit bright for that guitar. Well, the bridge pickup was. Could be because it's a closed top semi-solid. Not having the F-holes certainly gives it a different vibe. But what I did notice about the HRWs is that they seemed to be just that much more than the lowly stock Schallers in my Prospect and 535. Similar in tone, but more pronounced across the tonal spectrum.

I'm seriously thinking of changing them to Seths or low wind Lollars.
