Left handed H-170 thanks to Greg C (aka sparky).

Greg was amazing and patient-

He did a LOT of leg work getting shipping quotes and got me a really good deal too.

He also allowed me time to sell a few pedals to help pay for the guitar.

So when it arrives I'll be an official owner.

Like Greg, I play left handed but strung right handed.

The guitar is currently set up for a conventional lefty,

but I'll have it returned to Greg's original set-up as shown on this thread:

I currently play a CS '57 Strat (Shoreline Gold) and a CS '57 Tele (tobaccoburst).

Greg sold me his Trans Blue Custom H-170 and it's a beauty!

Thanks for everything to make this happen Greg.

Simon,

Congrats on getting such a beauty!!! That blue H170 is a dandy, for sure. Got to love it when a plan comes together.

And kudos to Greg for helping you get the plank.

Thanks both for the kind words and you're right about Greg.

Regarding the A Team plan coming together ....

I had only just become aware of Heritage guitars.

I got some feedback from Brent and Southpaw Guy, wound up discovering the HOC and

low and behold another left handed/ righty is selling his guitar in the northern hemisphere while I'm looking from downunder.

In terms of probability....how often would:

a right handed guitarist

who plays with the strings left handed,

find a guy who plays the same way on the other side of the world

selling the guitar they would love to buy

who turns out to be the perfect gentleman and goes the extra mile the way Greg did?

Yep the improbable plan did come together.

Can't wait till it arrives to be able to post a clip etc.

Cheers to all for their advice/ experience and support.

;)

Yep.... Simon is another of them crazy cats. There are very few of us... Albert King being a famous one. That cats smokin'... see? One of the three "Kings" of the blues. Dang right. From a physics standpoint, I like the "pull down" string bends as opposed to the "push up" most gunslingers ( I'm not a gunslinger... I'm one of the townsfolk cowering behind the bar) use... at least for the higher strings. Now on to my next Heritage.

Again, gotta be another custom made lefty-strung righty (reversed bridge angle). I wonder if Heritage would consider

a "one-off" custom made. Something not in the product line. Tooling and jig issues may be prohibitive I'd guess. So it'll probably be some variant on the H110. I'm thinkin' not fully weight-relieved, around 8 lbs. I like a little heft... when pulling those strings down you don't have to hold the guitar as much to regulate bends, at least for me. I know... just freakin'

Fascinating ain't it. I had Jay quote a H110 version of Ol' Blue... 2.7k. Not sure I'm gonna go that route.

I'm glad Simon now has what is essentially a brand new Heritage (I put maybe 15 hours on it)... and a custom made for his playing style one-of-a-kind at that.

This is a fantastic looking guitar. Congrats.

Thanks Ray. I can't believe it has so few hours on it.

Gireg said it has only got about 15 hours playing on it so it's a custom made as new guitar.

He explained he didn't think the strap pin placement on the back of the neck

would be a problem but it ended up frustrating him.

(Might not be an issue for a right handed player reaching the upper frets).

I'll definitley put a strap pin on the upper horn as I know it will be a keeper

and fill the hole where the currrent strap pin is.

I'd never find a guitar so perfectly set up regarding the reversed bridge etc.

When I first enquired what was the first Heritage other members owned,

quite a few said start with a 150- or perhaps 140.

Given this will give Les paul tones or a double cut version-

with the coil tap- it adds up as an extremely versatile first Heritage.

It would also allow me at times to leave my Tele in an open G tuning when playing live

for Rolling Stones songs and we do quite a few that can only sound "right"

played in Open G tuning.

(Honky Tonk Women, Start me Up, Brown Sugar, Tumbling Dice,

You Can't Always Get What You Want, Don't Stop etc.)

The difficulty around here seems to be stopping at one!

I'd be happy with one plus my strat and tele- but man those 535's REALLY are appealing from what I've seen/ heard

and that's only on youtube!!!!

I also know of a possible lefty 150 gold top that could be traded soon..........Why do I think that this may become a disease?????

Go Well Ray and Thanks,
