gretschcrush Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Hi Everone and greetings from England! Just bought my first Heritage guitar and want to tell the world. It is a H550 2004 and stunning. I have been playing since I was 11 and I am 45 now so I have been through many guitars so far and this is one of the best I have ever played. I am a staunch vintage Gretsch enthusiast and have collected quite a collection of golden era 50s and 60s Gretsch guitars. I am however not happy with the Japanese versions of these classic american guitars. I have also owned a few modern Gibson guitars including an ES135, ES137, Switchmaster CES and ES 165 Herb Ellis. All very nice guitars but none from Gibsons golden era and none of them played as good as this H550. So I can confirm what people have been telling me for a long time -"want a good gibson? buy a Heritage"
mark555 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 A warm welcome to the HOC, I am sure many others will be posting their welcomes also, this is a nice place to while away some time, see lots of nice guitars and chill with nice people. Any chance you are going to post a pic of your new guitar? It's a right of passage for all when joining to show the rest of us your eye candy....!
tulk1 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 We're getting quite the contigent from the Isles. Welcome. And congrats on finding the true heritage of guitars. Gotta second what Mark has suggested. Pics are pretty much mandatory.

Welcome to the HOC, gretschcrush You seem to have the right idea. And well on your way to the Heritage fever. It's the second one that really grabs you... or is it the third.. In any case , enjoy the 550 .. from the new "golden age" of Kalamazoo. Check out the galleries for some great Heritage guitars. And , of course , we'd love to see yours..

mark555 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Paul, I saw a pic of your red lefty 150 on the for sale board, and saw that you have a Matamp cab, do you have the amp to match it? Matamp are just over the hill from us, I have been in their workshop several times and have mentioned them on the hoc threads a few times. Which of their amps do you have?
Ray Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Welcome to HOC and congratulations on the purchase of your H550. I only joined HOC in December 2009, but I can assure you that everyone here is fantastic and very helpful. I agree with you that Heritage Guitars make excellent instruments - definitely worth buying...no doubt about that.
