daiku Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 How would you describe the neck profile on the Heritage guitars. Are they the 50's style necks or the slimmer later model necks? Can anyone comment on the quality of the pots and internal wiring?
TalismanRich Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 There isn't a standard neck carve for all 150s or 157s. On my 157 (2003 model) it has D shaped neck about 7/8" deep. I have played a 150 that had a fairly chunky C shape, more like my 535's neck. If it's a used instrument, you'll have to get the measurements on it if you can't feel it yourself.

Probably the most common description that we hear is " somewhere between a 50's chunky and a 60's slim ". But being handmade , there is some variance and when custom ordered, any carve...thick to thin ...can be specified. My '89 140 has a thick chunky C shape , my '92 150 is quite thin, my '00 150 is in between... which seems more common now. Certainly , regarding pots and wiring, there is nothing on a Heritage that is a cheap quality. One of mine was upgraded with a pickup swap, but I don't feel any desire to change the others. Others may feel differently, but I believe that most don't feel that it is an essential swap.
