strings2wood Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Cloud reflection on a beautiful Trans Blue from Greg C. I'm in heaven. Thanks Greg- it's everything you said it was and then some. Greg is a lefty righty. When Öle Blue arrived- it had a lefty set up (with the reverse bridge- as Greg ordered the guitar). Paul at Soundworks in Melbourne cut a new nut, and moved the strap pin to the horn. There is a removable rivet where the pin can go back if desired. Sorry for showing big family photos. Gigged with Ole Blue on friday night- Took the CS '56 Strat and the CS 57'tele. Only played the H-170 all night. Didn't play a note on the Fenders. Bass Player came in during a sound check. He said I was listening to that guitar from outside, that tone is unbelievable. Then he saw the finish, game over. NITROCELLULOSE FRIENDLY GUITAR STAND- Paul said this model K & M stand is notrocellulose friendly and neutral to the guiat finish. He learnt the hard way after having to re-spray 2 very expensive Gibson Les Pauls. The job was covered by the maker of the guitar stands he had been using up till thern Öuch!!!" He now swears by and gives his word and reputation on these K & M stands.
FredZepp Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 My Gawd, look at the finish on that... awesome, ....it is. That one stands out for sure... Happy New Guitar Day
Kuz Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I thought you meant the trampoline was a nitro friendly guitar stand, for a second...... Ol' Blue is a GORGEOUS guitar, well done!!!!

zookroo1 Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Love the color! Great addition to your arsenal. The real question remains- are you dunking off that trampoline?

strings2wood Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 Hi there from PerthAnother nice guitar. Useful collection you have there. Truly think I'm covered- Strat-Tele- Humbuckers- I think the 170 goes a long way to curb my thinking a 150- 140- is essential, I know others will say it is of course! But.......... the 170 has me thinking a 535 would REALLY round off the collection. I'm a happily converted Heritage believer!

SouthpawGuy Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Congrats on the 170, it is a looker. So 140 or 535 next ?
strings2wood Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 Congrats on the 170, it is a looker. So 140 or 535 next ? I'm still getting over getting killed for this one!!!!!! It happens quite a bit when i buy pedals etc. I truly think the 170 will be my surrogate "Les Paul light"as Greg coined the phrase. to that end- when I get better after this most recent being killed, I'd be keen on a 535. My thinking would be along the lines of: a strat can "nearly" do what a tele does, not vice versa (imo). The Tele (until the 170) would usually be my preferred workhorse guitar for gigs while the strat was song/ tone specific. Now it seems the 170 does things neither the Strat or Tele can do. For the split coil I'd go to the Tele at the moment. So it seems a 535 would cover a specialist area the others don't. Gotta say Southpaw I loved your latest sunburst 535 as found by Brent. But the 170 is going to have me buzzing for quite a while to come! If it's hard to find a lefty/ righty 170- I'm sure a 535 would be VERY rare indeed. I'm assuming it would be a standard lefty thast you reverse the bridge set up on. Don't think I'd live if ordered a new one!!!!!
yoslate Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Please allow me to pile on, late.... Strings, just a beauty! And sounds as though it gets the job done, as well. Lovely stack of wood you have there!!! Congrats!
cook Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Nice looking guitar! I like the tele too because it looks like mine!
