Smurph - the Prospect has a 1" narrower bout than the H535.

Prospect custom, is that the one with the solid block?
CJ - the Prospect is a semi-hollow with a floating center block. Altho' it can be ordered with a solid block. Mine is a "Custom" because I custom ordered it. :color:

Tone report... please.

That's kinda hard to do, actually. All that depends on volume, amp, etc. However - I'll take a stab at it. Tone - To Die For!!!!! :color: Seriously, still getting used to the PhatCats. Altho' I did play the snot out of it last night. Until the skaters came the Olympics. The neck pup, of course, is very warm. Neck/Mid position is very useable. Gets the lows of the neck, with a bit of the bridge highs. Really liked that position. The bridge pup - funny thing. It really liked being played clean. I mean, it was bold without being ice picky. Had some snap you'd expect from single coils. OD'd --- just a bit "jangly" with an overdrive. With a clean boost providing the punch it was better. One thing worth noting is the clarity of the notes whether OD'd or pushed. I'll need to actually play it for a few weeks to get over the "new guitar" syndrome so far as tone is concerned. But as for it's playability - it plays very well. Notes bend easily, come right back in. The fat neck doesn't seem to impede speed at all. And uber easy reach into the higher frets (as a cutaway should). .... How's that?

that is one beautiful finish on that Prospect...you must to be very pleased with the way it turned out Kenny...congratulations!!

Congrats on your new unique Heritage Prospect. Your inclusion of a pickguard is commendable. The Phat Cat pickups offer up a different look with their center poles. Of course, in the end it's all about sound and playability.

Beautiful for a "red" guitar....

Seriously, Well done and way to show that I am not the only one with success ordering a "custom" Heritage!!!!

Excellent attention to defining the detail there, Kenny. Love it - like all the appointments you've made. Very choice piece there!

Just an FYI, all the custom appointments made to that guitar ... didn't add a penny to the cost. One of the perks of being an HoC member. I'm telling you, I got royal treatment. I even got asked if I knew about the picnic and if I was coming this year. <lol> Telling you that so anyone reading will understand it wasn't "me", it was being a member of their support group.

And thanks for all the nice comments. I did talk to both Ren and Vince about the specs. Ren would say "yes", Vince would say, "uh, maybe". Once Vince even said "I don't want to do that" on one spec. Oh yeah, so did Ren on another original spec. So, kudos go where they belong - it was a collaborative effort. Even more so on the color.

I told Vince I had one guitar with OSB, didn't really want another. Had two with ALSB, and didn't want that. He suggested a variation of DASB. Which they just friggin' nailed. In the right light, there is a hint of Vintage Wine Burst underneath the finish. Mostly you see the Dark Almond, but I'm telling you, there is some subtle Red in there (that's for Kuz!!!).

And can't forget Kuz. He helped with the specs, as well. Just want everyone involved to get credit. And I might even let him play it at PSPIII.

Wow , very nice spec.

It is very cool to hear about the special HOC treatment....

And Dark Almond Burst w 50's neck and Phat Cats.

Well Done and again.... nice spec.

I imagine if they got guitars like this in the hands of a quantity of professional musicians, there would be a run on this style.
