americanguitar Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I'm kind of new here so maybe I've missed this somewhere. I'm thinking of purchasing a used H-150CM deluxe. Under the serial number is a 3 digit number (#297) that is supposed to reflect a special run or dealer run. Is there any reference for what specific run this might be? The serial prefix is "W" - 2006. Thanks, Tom

FredZepp Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 If I remember correctly.. The Deluxe is a Limited Edition with Scarfed (belly cut ) body, bound and veneered headstock and multibinding on the body. Ultra wood also. I can't say how many were made ... anyone know? Just a really nice upgraded 150CM that usually looks sweet and of course plays and sounds like a true Heritage should. Oh and BTW... welcome to the club.
Thundersteel Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 You are correct--the 3-digit number signifies a special run, usually from a particular dealer. Send Heritage an email, or give them a call--they should be able to tell you exactly what's up with that guitar. Oh--welcome! Make sure you post pics when you get it!

Yes, I just looked at the guitar last night and your description sounds correct. I think I'm going to get it this weekend. Thanks to everyone for all the info. This will be my first Heritage but I've been looking at these a long time and I visited the factory a couple of years ago. To me, these are the real deal. Tom americanguitar

Tom americanguitar Those 150 Deluxes are popular around here. Nice custom features on an already great guitar.... and the Ultra wood top doesn't hurt either. Good Luck... I hope you get it.
americanguitar Posted February 20, 2010 Author Posted February 20, 2010 Well, I bought it. I love it. I'm officially a "Heritage" owner.
FredZepp Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Dude... that looks cool. I'm not sure what finish that is but the guitar looks rockin. And cool amp also... what is that? Congrats on the Happy New Guitar Day. Show us more... Show us the headstock if you can....!
Thundersteel Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Very nice--congrats! It looks like Chestnut Burst.
TalismanRich Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 That's a classy looking 150. Congrats.
ledzef Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Think that is the first Chestnut burst 150 I've seen. That's a great find hopefully you can find out which dealer that guitar came from. Enjoy that axe.
FredZepp Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Oh yeah... a cool ritual on a new Heritage... Open the control cavity (take the back off) and see what the label says... take a pic if you can.....
americanguitar Posted February 20, 2010 Author Posted February 20, 2010 The amp in the picture is one that I built. It's basically a clean Fender style circuit. No overdrive. I used to build some of these when I had more time. I opened the control cavity on the H-150 Deluxe and there is a Heritage custom shop label with "#237" "H 150 DLX" "Wxxxxx" "CN.SB." "59's" There is some additional notation (in different handwriting) underneath all of this that indicates the pickups have been changed although probably done outside of the factory. I have an email out to Heritage to see if I can get more info.

Chestnut Burst. and Duncan '59's installed at the factory.
americanguitar Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 Well, I got my reply as to what the 3 digit code is: "Registration Number" was the explanation. No other details. Regardless, I love this guitar. This has the true feeling, vibe, sounds and smells of the guitars that were always made in Kalamazoo. Looking forward to being a part of HOC and I appreciate other members making me feel welcome. I'll try and add some more pictures soon. Tom
americanguitar Posted February 23, 2010 Author Posted February 23, 2010 If anyone is interested, I posted a video on YouTube of me playing a Tony Mottola tune on this guitar. It should be the first video in the viewer if you go to my channel. The guitar sounds great, my playing isn't the greatest. http://www.youtube.com/user/tlamericanguitar
