atomcrusher Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Hello! I'm new to this site. usually play one of my Gibsons in an amateur jazz/rock combo. Just looking through the models Heritage make, on the factory Website and one jumped out at me, the Millenium Ultra STD. I know they are said to be top quality, like Gibson used to be etc. etc. But is it true? Has anyone got one of this model, or played one at any time? Final question. I'm in the UK and there don't seem to be any actual Heritage dealers here... can a guitar be ordered new from the factory itself and shipped to a customer? Cheers Atomcrusher (not such a good name as "Gitfiddler"!)

FredZepp Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Hello and Welcome to the HOC. To answer one of your questions, No, you can not buy from the factory. But there are many dealers that ship and of course our friends in the UK would be glad to help with who they had ordered through. And... Yes , they are made hand made in the top quality. Many of the machines that are used are the same as left there from the old Gibby days. I encourage you to go to the gallery section , go to PSPII (2009 Parsons Street Pilgramage) section and see inside the factory with photos taken during our tour.

mark555 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Welcome to another Brit, where are you? There is a dealer in Nottingham and one around Bristol somewhere, but you will pay top price from these guys, they are about the only dealers in the UK. Plenty guitars seem to be sold on this forum. I have a 555, and it just outshines the current 335's. Heritage guitars are extremely rare over here, so if you see a used one, buy it. Other than that, Jay Wolfe in Florida is a top dealer, and probably the best Heritage dealer anywhere. He is really good at export and knows what he is doing. I do believe you can specify what you want to the guys in the factory but have to buy through their dealer network, which is usual for a manufacturer who deals through retailers in any industry. Just scour ebay and from time to time Heritage guitars crop up but very rarely. Good luck, let us all know what you decide to do.
TalismanRich Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 There's a Millenium Ultra at a local dealer in Kentucky. I played it back a couple of months ago before I grabbed a 2000 Millenium from a member here. They really are a great guitar. Very versatile. It's slowly replacing my 535 as my favorite. I don't know if they would ship to the UK, but you can certainly email them to find out. http://www.stringinstruments.com/pm-1373-1...tra-custom.aspx Welcome to the HOC and best of luck in finding your "Milli"
atomcrusher Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 Hello Chaps. Thanks for your replies and advice (nice factory pictures). To answer one question, I am located in Whitchurch, Hampshire - about 50 miles West of London. Here we do not have: Night Clubs Pole Dancers Groovy Bars. We do have: Badgers Rabbits Horny-Handed Farmers. Will have a look at US dealers who might ship at a reasonable price... and E-bay. Cheers Atomcrusher
