Bought this one from Elderly Instruments just after Christmas, it had Duncan stacked P-90s fitted so I took the opportunity to have Lindy Fralin hum cancelling P-90s installed before it was shipped to me. The work was done by Pete Moreno, courtesy of Brent.

This one is very solid, no truss rod adjustment needed when it arrived and it holds tune remarkably well considering all of the bending I've been doing on it. I only had to adjust the pole piece heights on the bridge pickup to match the output of the neck. The pickups are very good, lots of poke but sound very good clean, the sustain is great. The overdrive tones are fabulous, through the Laney TT pictured and also the Blues Jnr, the middle position with both pickups on is sweet even with lots of gain. As for noise ... there isn't any !

Very Nice Indeed.

Great finish .

And just goes to show that good wood, handcrafted , and with quality pickups ... makes for a superb instrument.

Congrats on the new Heritage. I'm sure that you'll enjoy it much.

WOW!!!!!!

That is beauitful.

That would have to be the nicest looking tobaccoburst I've seen on ANY guitar.

It catches the woodgrain beautifully.

Where would it sit tonally compared with the 170 or a 140.

You certainly have a way with photo composition too.

My first amp was a Laney VC 30.

It was a killer amp for playing blues.

There are years of emjoyment to come from that elegant piece of work.

CongratulationsI Pure class and poetry.

The mahogany really takes the OSB stain differently than maple, doesn't it? It does sort of come off tobacco looking, more so than OSB over maple. Very subtle and ... well, hate to use the word "elegant" on a 137 type guitar. :D But it sure does look good! :P And hum cancelling Fralins, eh? Not that would be most excellent!

Thanks for the compliments guys, it is a great little guitar.

Tone wise v the 170 with P-Rails the Fralins probably have more output than the P-90 in the P-Rails with the added benefit of a lot less noise and more "attitude". It is surprisingly versatile, the neck pickup is really good for clean chording, the bridge has plenty of bite and the middle position is very musical. Not taking away from the Duncan pickups, they are very versatile indeed and sound fantastic in their own right, I have them in the 170 and also the sunset burst 535.

Being a lefty I didn't think I would find a used 137 in a burst finish any time soon, most new ones seem to be TV yellow which is not my thing, so when it popped up on Elderly I was gobsmacked. The price was right too. I also really like the intonatable bridge, newer 137s have the wrap around.

The Laney amp pictured is a TT50, three channel all valve with excellent clean tones, the rhythm channel has plenty of crunch, and the lead channel produces some seriously saturated tones.

Nice score! Elderly is a great place to do business, and Pete Moreno does great work. He's been my go-to guitar guy for over 25 years.

That's a beauty though.

That is a nice burst! My H137 has become my favorite guitar, especially with my tweed deluxe. It is now my main gigging rig. Mine has the Lollars, but they are just great guitars. Now I want a burst.

Nice looking guitar - do you have any other Heritage's? Welcome to the HOC, look forward to reading your posts.

Hey, Southpaw

I did my research on the Lindy Fralins, and they *do* seem to be the choice for noiseless P 90s. Maybe I'll get one someday.
