Damn,

:smile_mini2:

Alright, I'm probably sold at this point. It's seeming like these guitars are every bit as good as their Gibson counter-parts. It looks like PRS is going to be on the back burner and my next guitar is going to be a heritage! :happy10:.

Congratulations Ryan!! Every bit as good? How about better!! :hippy2:

here is some more GAS fuel for ya Ryan....

How much to take here off your hands? HAH! (jk, I wouldn't want you to sell that, it's way too pretty to look at.)

That guitar is absolutely gorgeous :smile_mini2: . The finish just 100% shows off the natural beauty of the wood. They're all beautiful guitars though.

Not to mention, conorb's heritage is just 100% stunning as well. This is like Guitar porn to the max.

Love the blue fade on that top one bob. Usually I'm not a fan of blue guitars - but the way that one was done it looks great.

Ryan,

Speaking from a new member viewpoint, there is more classy looking guitar porn on this site along with an unusually high proportion of seriously guitarded and addicted enablers per capita helping their codependent others enjoy the shared disease. Dangerous! Suffer!

As far as the headstock thang, well, I don't spend much time looking at it when I'm playing... could care less...but there is this more pressing problem I have, when any of my small Heritage harem of mail order brides (all 3 from eBay) are being loved with my slow hands and clumsy fingers they start moaning and screaming kinda loudly, well, I have a tendency to drool out of the left corner of my mouth. So I occasionally have to stop playing and get the rag out of the case to wipe the track off the neck along with the finger crud from the strings... :smile_mini2:

Ahah, Oh man. To be honest the headstock doesn't bother me all that much. It's odd and looks out of place at first, but it has a very very minimal influence on my decision to buy The shape of the headstock doesn't make or break the purchase for me. :happy10:

Hey look........

He's holding a heritage :hippy2:

It occurs to me that, in a philosophical sense, once you get to the point of "thinking about joining The Club," you're already a member. It's all about getting past that initial hurdle of being locked in to a brand name. As soon as The Heritage becomes a viable option in your mind, worthy of consideration instead of dismissal, you will be hard pressed to find a rational, logical reason to spend far more money to get far less in a guitar.

Let's not get too carried away with the best looking 150s, we all think our kids are the cutest!!! :smile_mini2:

I'd add that I now have (3) H150s, and they are everything everyone here says. About the "sticky neck" thing, if it's ever a problem, you get a set of Micromesh sanding cloths running between about 1200 and 6000 grit from Rockler. Soak them in water overnight, and the next day, blot them with paper towels to get up the excess water, and sand the neck starting with the 1200 and work up to the 6000. By the time you get to the 6000, there will be a hard luster on that neck with a beautiful high gloss, but it'll be dry as a bone and still have the lacquer on it. It takes about a half an hour, tops, and you won't ever have to do it again. Use Virtuoso polish, and you'll be just fine. It'll be the hardest, glassiest finish you ever played.

Hope this helps. This works on any brand guitar with a lacquered neck, but works best on a Heritage. :smile_mini2:

Guys, I think the nitro is "stickier" than say, poly on the neck of a Strat. That said, I keep a rag with some lemon oil on it in my case and wipe the neck down with it and it solves the problem (and clean hands too).

back to shredding,

Every time I let my bandmate play my heritage - out of convenience - the neck comes back sticky. I think his body emits some sort of bad man acid or something.

Weird, it's never like that unless he's been playing it.

Must keep it out of his evil infected hands.

Hottest summer on record over here. Everything is sticky.

The strat, the PRS SAS, H150 and even Takamine with the satin finish all get pretty sticky. All nitro finish necks.

The Yamahas are poly. I just slip around on those when it gets to hot.

Prefer the nitro as I normally land near the fret I mean to, where as I can slip past by 5 frets on poly finish. :smile_mini2:

If your not sweating you're not really digging in I guess.

I like your attitude.

My EJ Strat had the stickiest neck ever! Played that as my main guitar for over a year, gigging regularly. It never smoothed out. For me, so far, none of my H's have had the sticky prob. The tack is inherent in nitro. (has that been covered? if so, ignore like usual). I recall a thread from a year back or so where this came up. We (wishfully) thought the boys might have some secret application method. But I'm thinking more its personal chemical makeup and reaction. Or maybe I'm just totally uninformed and should go away. .......... :smile_mini2:

Heritage is great I love my 150, one of better built guitars and worth the price

on the Les Paul forums (yeah I know, What are you doing over there!?) they had a luthier says he uses the lightest abrasive version of steel wool to smooth the neck down.

There's also guys that use powder for sweaty hands that the steel wool won't work . . . I used to work with a guy that would bring a zip loc bag of talcum powder with a rolled up sock in his pocket for social events or job interviews and learned how to use it without spilling all over in his pocket . . .

If your into flame/quilted maple you won't be disappointed w/ Heritage guitars. Every time you think you've seen a great top someone one ups the next guy w/ another amazing top these really are primo tops on a great guitar. Thumbs up all around don't own a solidbody Heritage but my semi blows away my Gibson LP any day of the week.

Hi Ryan welcome,

I have Gibson Les Paul Standard and two Heritage H157's. I played my Gibby out for about 8 years and desided it was time to put it up as it has a lot of history. I play out about 6 nights a month plus practice with the band about another 5 nights. I desided that I need something to play out live and stumbled onto Heritage. Now my Heritage is my main live guitar. I put a JB Seymour in the bridge, RS guitarworks electronics, and new tuners like they put on the Gibby custom guitars. My Heritage is by far superior guitar. When I solo the notes ring out excellent and plays way better. I am totally hooked on Heritage. They are built to a lot higher standard. Depending on the one you get you may have a small finish flaw, and I meen small but they play way better. I paid $1,300 for both of my H-157's which is what you would spend on a Gibby Studio. Go with Heritage. It is a better playing and sounding Gibby for sure. Trust me. I bought on of mine on this forum and it was well taken care of and set up. In terms of sticky neck I am not sure why people are having this issue. As much as I play out in smokey bars I have never had any issue period.
