Has anyone pulled pickups from a Heritage archtop?

I'm going to pull mine from my 575 and am wondering how they are attached and what I'm getting myself into. Soldered to the pots? Or does Heritage use some kind of connector system?

Thanks!

They are soldered directly to the pots. You will need to remove the pots and output jack, then just pull out the entire assembly.

More than one way to do this. You CAN pull out the entire harness through a pickup opening and do the dirty work far from the nitro finish. This is arguably the safest way. OR...you can trace the existing pickup leads to its pot connections, pull JUST those pots up through the f-holes (you'll likely have to loosen some other hard spots to get enough slack), PROTECT THE FINISH and do the desoldering/soldering right there. Not for the faint of heart but I'm comfortable/brave/stupid enough to do it the second way and it works fine. But there is risk...BTW, my set pickup Heritages have not had RCA connectors but my floating pickup models have. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Well, I pulled everything out, no problems! Now to install the new ones in a few weeks! I'll post photos after it is de-golded and the Bigsby is on.

Thanks again for the help!

Ha! No, just removing gold hardware/pickups covers. Adding an aluminum Bigsby.

Mine has the RCA between output and harness . Worth adding if it's not there
