Hilarious!!! I just pulled this up. I saw just "Kuz" and the picture, and I knew what was up. I know this cat, and he wouldn't part with his Heritage harem for ten 0f those L-5's! Well..maybe ten...but certainly not nine.... Nice one, John! Been waiting all day for someone to send everybody up. At first, I thought the Swedish boob thread was it....

Slate,

You thought the Swedish thing was a joke?

Nothing I can do about it. The L5 was VERY expensive. I would be a fool to pass this debt on to my family.

I made a decision and it's time to move on and live with it!

Well, I hope my little joke brought everyone some cheer.

I LOVE ALL MY HERITAGES WITH THE VERY FABRIC OF MY SOUL, and I can honestly say I would not sell them for some OLD guitar (even a '59 LP!!!)

I thought the above reply was a dead give away, but thanks for your passionate replies. They almost made me feel bad about my joke.

HOC is a special place, and you all share a special friendship with me.

Thanks again for the gag, and happy fools day!

You got me there, John. But I must say I was a little confused because it is very clear from your writings that you adore your H beauties and rightly so. I was wondering why the sudden change, which seemed out of character. I believed you - it did not occur to me that you were joking. But it is all fun. :this_thread_is_useless_without_

Kuz would only get that if it had a rosewood finger board.

Actually, I don't know if I ever told you but my 575 has an EBONY board. So did my former Sweet 16 and Golden Eagle. I really don't mind the Ebony on hollow bodies or acoustics. But Ebony is not me for Solid bodies or Semi-hollows.

Actually, Lyle, after twenty-six years of marriage, I've leaned never to joke about female anatomy!!! But I did try my damnedest to turn that thread into one (thanks jmc!) :this_thread_is_useless_without_

I was kidding Kuz I knew you were kidding. Your a collector not consolidator. Anyone into Peter Green and Sean Costello like you would never give up a P90 150 and Greeny for an Archtop. Not your style I never fell for it, I was playing along.

This year you are going into the Henderson's creek.

John, you ****** - and there's me, the first one to fall for it. everything in that post should have told me it was a wind up....

Excellent point! I calculate that you are at least 19 minutes dumber than I am. I feel better already ... :)

The most significant decision of my life just became reality.

I have always wanted to pursue my passion of JAZZ. But I really wanted to fall in 100%.

The beauty became available to me. A 1939 Gibson L5, WOW!!!!

But here is why it is so bitter sweet. TO AFFORD THIS GUITAR I WILL HAVE TO SELL EVERY HERITAGE I OWN!!!

The dealer is willing to help me with the consignments, it's a done deal.

Please friends congratulate me so I know I made the right decision. It is a dream come true!

Hope you are having a great day,

John

For the record, I've had the opportunity to play L5s. I like my Heritage Super Eagle better!

How'd you do that with the photos? Are they from the same website? (Yours is better looking!)

Did they make that pickup in '39? My '39 ES-150 still has the Charlie Christian pickup. They didn't make little humbuckers back then. If you can make it through life with one guitar that suits one style of music? I guess you know that answer. Maybe this is a late April Fools joke.

Ouch, I chipped a tooth biting on that one. I still think it's a good idea to learn to play jazz like a mad man.
