fatarthur Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I've been offered a heritage six string - 'great - so what ?' Well, I can’t find any detail about it as regards which model it could possibly be – it has an eighties style sharp angled headstock emblazoned with ‘made in Kalamazoo’, a single humbucker and ( I think ) a grey suede finish for the body. It’s from a reliable source, who has owned it from new, but we’ve both unsuccessfully trawled the internet for information about it so consequently, neither of us have the faintest idea of it’s value. Apparently, some time ago the ‘source’ rang the factory, and spoke to somebody who seemed surprised that any of these things were around, supposedly there’s a bass model as well !!! Can anybody help?

If it's similar to the HB-2 bass pictured then it could be a VIP HB-2 bass It could also be a single pickup 160, I don't think I've seen one but it may have been a custom order. VIP 1 and 160V attached below ...
SouthpawGuy Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Forgot to mention ... the model number is often written on the rear of the control cavity cover.

fatarthur Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 thanks guys, but its not a 160, not too far off though. I'll upload a picture later, I just thought the description would be a starting point, after all, a Grey Suede finish is'nt something one sees every day.
tulk1 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 The gray suede is either a custom finish. Or a refin. Don't think it was ever a stock offering. It'll be interesting to see what you've got.

barrymclark Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 i bet its a H 101 That is the one I was thinking of. I couldn't remember the model though. There was one posted for sale not long ago on here. It was that same gray.
brentrocks Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 i actually wouldnt mind having one of those ..... and the bass
barrymclark Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 i actually wouldnt mind having one of those ..... and the bass You sure you haven't bought and sold one?
fatarthur Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 that's it !!! For those that are interested, it was bought new, off of the shelf in a music shop in Croydon, ( South London, U.K. ) , so I'm pretty sure it's not a custom , or refurbishment. Simple construction, but really nice quality, good sound, although, I've got to be honest - it's not the easiest guitar I've ever tried, Doesn't help that I've got fingers like sausages. I'm sort of taken with it because it looks a bit bizzare, but as I said in my first link, neither the seller or myself have a clue as to what it's worth, we're long time friends and have to be honest about this.
brentrocks Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 does it have a Heritage hard case? if yes, you are probably looking at around $500 in EX condition. where are you located? i guess i would say im interested
brentrocks Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 drop me an email at brentrocks@aol.com if it is for sale and we can discuss it
fatarthur Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 brentrocks Apologies, didn't mean to mislead anybody, I'm trying to do a trade with this source and be as fair with him as I can. As I mentioned, we've known each other for many years and we neither of us know what we're dealing with. As for your questions, it has a good fitting hardcase, but without any mention of Heritage upon it , and we both live in the south east of England. Appreciate the interest though,
