GunslingerTrav Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 It will have TV Yellow color, Seymour Duncan P90s (I forget off hand which model), my initials inlaid at the 12th fret, a slim tapered neck, chrome hardware, Grover's, ah... I think thats about it. I'm going to have a pickguard put on it too.

With your initials in it , you'll want to keep it. Have you already ordered it? I was thinking about H-137 as the 12th fret inlay.... but hey your initials make it more personal. I hope that you get it fairly soon, I know that it is tough waiting for it.
barrymclark Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Imagine if Brent put his initials on all of his guitars....
GunslingerTrav Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 Yeah, my deposit is down. Eight weeks or so.... the Duncans are Hot Soapbar SP90-2. The Grover's are with the 18:1 gear ratio. I'm very excited!! I own around 30 guitars, but this will be my first Heritage.

brentrocks Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I love my H 137 DC Deluxe. I kinda pimped mine out a lil...lol. The Lollars are great pups, but i opted for the Fralin no humm p-90s. One piece body, not too heavy. you can get it long scale if you want, mine is 24 scale. I tink you will like it no matter how you order it...you have lots of options.
MatZen Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Can't speak for the DC but my 137 Korina is one impressive guitar. You will love it. Brent has an especially nice specimen!
High Flying Bird Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 ....... I'm here at beautiful Fort Gordon, Georgia. Hooah! Ah, Fort Garbage. I was there in 1980. That was in the "pre-hooah" Army. I was in an old WW2 barracks close to the PX. I am sure they are gone now. We would go to Disgusta by bus and walk around downtown. The bus stop was beside a pawn shop and the terminal smelled heavily of urine. Undesirables would stand at the shop windows and watch Bruce Lee movies on TVs doing improvised kung fu moves.... until us "sojas" walked by and they would start trying to bum smokes. Our spittoon Sgt. told us that for every hour we worked training the locals would spend the same amount of time trying to figure out how to get our money. Sure enough payday night some fool would come back smelling of bad women, broke as the day they were born. I left there with a PX Yamaha classical. You will have a bit more guitar on you when you leave there. If you are going to participate in that ugly little war in the sand box you should send that guitar to me for safe keeping. Us signal guys have to stick together you know. Sorry, Ron, but I had to edit your post for the "easily offended." TS
Spectrum13 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Don't want to take away any of the Byrd's good old days but I have to ask if you ordered MOP "the Heritage"? or binding neck or headstock.
rjsanders Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 welcome + you might consider a wrap tail, intonatable, like this here. looking forward to your report in the nearest-possible future

GunslingerTrav Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 The way you describe it Ft Goron has changed alot. LOL The guy with the pics.... that is one beautiful guitar! Also, I've tricked out my EPI LP (put duncans in it, one with a flipped mag to get the Peter Green sound) and one of my Strats (put EMGs in it for that Pink Floyd tone).
blues Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 You will be in for a pleasant surprise. My 137DC is stock and it just kills.
GunslingerTrav Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 You will be in for a pleasant surprise. My 137DC is stock and it just kills. How is the action? What kind of amp are you running it through?
blues Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 The action is good, great sustain. I feel I little bit higher action really makes for better sustain. Ive used it with a Marshall Half stack and now a Victoria 5112. It sounds good with either amp. But I really like it with the 5112. I dont use pedals to much. I have one. A loverpedal. I plug in direct alot. Ive have a alot of guitars and this one is in my top 3. Im as happy as a pig in sh*t.

GunslingerTrav Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Even though I'm a classically trained guitarist, I've always had a soft spot for Johnny Thunders and his reckless tone. I feel he is vastly underrated. It is because of him that I was inspired to have this guitar made. What does everyone else think about him?

I didn't really know Johnny Thunders but did a search... reckless tone..oh yeah, one of the founders of the punk movement wouldn't have it any other way I would guess. Ain't Superstitious Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers

And prepare for an addiction Secondly, for fear of being rude though I'm still going to say this, but I abhor the Duncan Hot series P90s. I have them in my Guild Blues 90 and they barely sound like P90s, if I were you I'd spec out something a little more traditional sounding, such as the Lollars, or even Gibson ( ) my next project is getting proper sounding P90s in the Guild.
