Wow that rough, don't know if I could make it that long! Sounds like an interesting trip though
FredZepp Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 7 weeks... jeezum.. But the places you're going ( or been to ) sound quite interesting... New Zealand and Australia are some cool spots to go to. There must be some guitars somewhere, visit some music stores at least .... I have to bet that there aren't many Heritages in New Zealand though.

Heritage needs to make a travel guitar.. they can do that in their spare time..
Teeky Posted April 10, 2010 Author Posted April 10, 2010 Heritage needs to make a travel guitar.. they can do that in their spare time.. You are right - a travel guitar would be great. All I have taken with me is my trusty Hohner Chromatic harmonica. Not quite the same as the guitar but good to play on lonely beaches or by mountain lakes. It's a great trip don't get me wrong and seeing a whole load of places and using every form of transport - plane, mobile home, boat, train and car. Plenty of surfing in both countries, but only body surfing for me - surf boards are even worse to travel with! Don't know about cool in NZ - plenty of boiling hot mud and lakes! Don't know of any Heritages in NZ but Oz certainly. Having good fun but itching to play again soon.

I would be happy to go back and live at Mt Maunganui. Mum and my brother live there. I dont go back often enough or stay long enough when I do. What parts of Oz are you visiting? Im in Perth W.A. Im guessing youre on the east coast right now.

We started at Sydney (which was great), then to Cairns, over to Uluru, Alice Springs and in Adelaide at present. Off to Melbourne next and back to the UK after that. It's certainly great Down Under. It's odd how the sun travels the wrong way! Will need a holiday when we get back just to recover.

smurph1 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 You mean the sun rises in the west and sets in the east? COOL!!!
Teeky Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 You mean the sun rises in the west and sets in the east? COOL!!! Good point - you've got me thinking there for a while. In the northern hemisphere, to have the sun in front of us all day we face south and the sun moves from left to right. In the southern hemisphere, to have the sun in front of you all day you must face north and the sun moves from right to left. It still rises in east and sets in west but because you have to face the other way the sun travels in the opposite direction. Wierd eh?
