GroovieGuitarGuus Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I own a 535 from '88... I don't like the looks of the Shaller roller bridge and the Ugly stringand. Also the Stringend gives some times a problem. If I've a broken string, the BallEnd goes between the strange (and not usefull) mechanism. Is looks like a Shaller finetuner, without finetuners... ;-) I think a TonePros is a (very) good Alternative... but whith one??? Thanks and Kind regards from The Netherlands...
gopeteygo Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I felt the same way about mine and replaced them with Tonepros. I recommend them but not everybody was entirely happy with them. If you're interested I recommend going here and taking some measurements to ensure the correct parts are ordered. WD Music Tonepros Bridges and Tailpiece sets

Guus In my experience nickel will be duller and wear faster, chrome is more highly polished and will stay that way for longer. I prefer chrome myself as I seem to "kill" nickel very quickly indeed, and it tarnishes very quickly. Some prefer the aged or worn effect though.
