I just bought this H 155 from the local dealer yesterday afternoon. It's absolutely beautiful, and a joy to play!

Can anyone tell me about HRW Pickups. I understand they are a premium pickup. They certainly sound good.

Welcome to the HOC , Connor..

That is an exquisite example of a 155 that you grabbed there. A true beauty from Parsons St.

The HRW pickups are a secret customization of a Schaller pickup that is done by the infamous Rendall Walls of Heritage.

They are pretty much universally loved and coveted..

...and Heritage guitars with these installed have a dot on the switch tip to show that the guitar features these pickups.

Love it! You're going to have some fun with that one. Hope to see you around the forum, it's a great place for all things Heritage!

Thanks for the comments guys!

I noticed the white dot on the toggle switch and just thought it was another example of the incredible quality of this instrument.

I actually called Heritage this morning and told them how tickled I was with my new H 155. I bought my first new guitar, a Gibson SG, in 1964. It was Walnut, and of course, made in Kalamazoo. This guitar is a very similar color and it reminds me of my old SG. That's about where the comparison ends. This H 155 is a work of art!

These HRW pickups are facinating to me! They have a great tone! I'm curious how people describe them.

Thanks for the welcome!

Nice Milli!!!

Welcome to the HOC

Beautiful guitar and best of luck with it. Whats the difference between a 155 and a 157? I didn't see the 155 on the Heritage site.

Just realized it's a Mille, semi hollow body. Welcome to the club. Caution, Heritages can become a habit.

A really beautiful top on that... It's nice to acquire one that just screams quality like that.

It makes for a Really , Really Happy New Guitar Day.

Hey Greg. Good to have you here... on the forum, not in my house. :D

I have to say that HRWs are about perfect for my taste. They come off a little hot at full volume so I usually set up the amp with them at 8.5 to 9 on the volume control. when I am ready to play lead I can turn it up to 10. I also love to blend the volume and tone between the 2 pick ups. I usually set the tone to about the same. Just back it off a little. This gives you an after burner.

I once knew a guy from Two Harbors. "I hear that when Duluth flushes their toilets the sinks back up in Two Harbors." God that made him so mad.

HI Greg and a big welome to the HOC, a place where nice people with an addiction to Heritage guitars fuel their fever...! All I can do is echo what others say, what a great looking guitar you have, thanks for posting the pictures. Hope to see you around the forums and get your input here.

Hi Greg, welcome. It's 0215 local time, I just got in from jamming w/my buds up at the farm. Guess what axe I took. Yep, my H155. Mine's TransRed, I bought it used. It has silver hardware, which is unusual for these they usually come with gold. I love mine, a lot of the H155s have Seth Lovers but like yours, mine has HRWs. I love em. Oh, and my OTHER Millie, the DC, has HRW's too. Gold Hardware on that one. The 155 is a great alternative to a H150-LP style, lighter, and yet still gets that full bodied tone if you ask me. I absolutely love my H155. Nice specimen you have there.

Hi Greg and welcome to our little community. Nice snag on that H-155 that's a great top I tried looking your color on the Heritage website and couldn't find a match almost looks rootbeer cool color by the way. Putting your pickup selector in middle position and roll the tone and volume knobs to 5 or 6 you'll get a great mellow tone I love those HRW pickups. Well enjoy that guitar for years to come.

HRWs: @ Winter NAMM '03 i asked Jim Deurloo details on the pickups. his reply, " i could tell you...but then i'd have to kill you" :D

I just got back from a 3 day Business / Pleasure trip. It's hard to buy a new guitar on Thursdaay afternoon and leave Saturday morning for three days.

I fell in love all over again when I openned the case this evening and put the H 155 on the stand. These truely are remarkable guitars!
