eljay Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 welcome and never apologize around here for asking questions or posting..it's what we doooo.. howdy. i'm real new. i take mr. chico's words of encouragement from a thread i found searching "HRW pickups." i await my first Heritage guitar, H530. in the meantime, as a new zealot, i'm reading up on H guitars etc. and i've learned of "HRW" pups and their good reputation. being a guy of impeccable taste (yuk-yuk), i figure that i'll want HRWs in the H150 that i am almost sure to want in the future. thing is, i cannot really discern any difference between the '57 classics and the burstbuckers that are on my several gibbies. will the magic properties of HRWs be lost on me? your indulgence is appreciated! thank you, eljay
ledzef Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I doubt the magic will elude you. I have burstbucker pros in my 07 Premium plus and they sound like crap the HRWs in my blues deluxe are sweet and mellow. I know there is a difference between my semi-hollow Deluxe and my solid body LP but my Heritage just sounds 1,000 times better.
High Flying Bird Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I am not a pickup afecesanotto by any means. I do love the sound of the HRWs.
Thundersteel Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I had an H157 with HRWs--sounded phenomenal!
CJTopes Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 From my short time using them I can tell you they are pretty hot and they're a bit on the bright side. But not ear piercing bright. Using your tone/vol controls can get you a lot of nice sounds out of them. They also have a nice tight low end to them. Very versatile pickups IMO. Mine are in a semi hollow so they may sound different in a 150.
Connor Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I'm new to Heritage and HRW pickups too. I've only owned mine for a week. I noticed the sound of the HRW's imediately. They just have a great tone, and none on the "barking" you get with some humbuckers I think you'll like them!
