FredZepp Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Oh, I just commented on the other thread... Good job... that is one cool tune. And I like the keys story....
barrymclark Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 GREAT neck tone!!! t'was done at your request! I know it! That neck pickup is to die for! The bridge is pretty swanky too! I raised it up as much as I could and am pretty happy with that.
barrymclark Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Oh, I just commented on the other thread...Good job... that is one cool tune. And I like the keys story.... That has always been one of my favorites even before I started to play when I was very little. Imagine calling into work with that one. I really considered coming up with a lie that sounded much better than the truth. haha. Fact being stranger than fiction.
barrymclark Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 sounds great, love the schallers.. Me too! I can't believe I ever took 'em out!

barrymclark Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Cool vid. Nice tones and playing. Thanks, tully! I will put up more as I get something to put up. It isn't often I have the time to sit in front of a camera, play, upload it to my computer, edit the crap out (a lot of this) and then put it up on the net.

Hfan Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Sounds good Barry, I love that tune. What did you have in it before the Schallers? They sound great by the way. I just reversed the flux on my backwards Schaller, thanks again for catching that for me, I probably would have never noticed.

I had fun recording it for sure but, I gotta say, the warm reception it has received so far makes it even better! These pickups were actually the originals. I am not sure what I was thinking. I didn't dislike them at all and indeed liked them a geat deal. But, for whatever reason, I figured since I put EMG's in everything, they should go in this even though I had long since gotten out of the EMG part of my life. haha. So... got three EMG's. It took me about 3 minutes to not like them. I kept them in for a bit thinking they would grow on me. Nope. The Heritage just sat. As soon as the originals were put back in, I was happy as a clam. That is my favorite guitar song of ALL time. No prob! I am good for a catch every now and again.
MatZen Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 That was some very nice sound coming out of the cube! I am really impressed with the Schaller pickups. The neck pup is just something else on my '85. Don't let that one go! Your wife should take your keys more often!!!

I just can't say enough about the Schallers with regard to the sound I am looking for. A great fit for this guitar for me. Definitely not letting this one go. I tried to slip the keys into my wife's purse again. I am hoping... HOPING.... I can get a sound sample of that 84 that my father in law has but at very least share bits of info like what components make it up that might be different from what we normally see in a 140.
