If you could have a Heritage built for you

I know I did a similar one but I figured I would do this again here to narrow it to Heritage only.

Me?

It would prolly be a 157 with in transblack with three P90's. :D

Mini-block inlays roughly the size of dot inlays pushed up towards the low E string more than the middle of the fretboard. The single blocks would be in line with the top block at the 12th fret. :D

If possible, smokey chrome hardware. :D That's right. You heard me.

Stock brand bridge, tuners, etc.

3-way toggle.

I'd be in hog heaven.

Are we talking any body style? If so, mine would probably be a Tele style, with maple neck and two fat sounding humbuckers..Mmmmmm Tasty.. :D If it is limited to what Heritage makes now..Probably a 535 in ASB, block inlays, and HRW's..Yeah that's the ticket..

I would get my exact H150MC OSB with a Seth Lover or HRW humbucker in the bridge, my Lollar P90 can stay in the neck.

well, as a matter of fact, i am having a heritage built for me. h530 in antique natural. probably about 7 weeks until g-day.

i'm thinking about a 150 or 140 at some future point.

as long as we are thinking out loud

I would love a h-170 with an extra deep dish carve, a gut cut, three lolar mini hums, a bigsby, bound ebony board (no markers) and a 555 headstock in some type of yellow and red burst ultra top, with a natural back and a stinger..

that is if we are just thinking out loud. :D

and if my wife asks, I was never here!

I've had two custom made by the boys. The Millie NFH OSB:

And the Prospect Custom DASB:

What I would like, tho', is a Stat with a tight flame maple cap masked off during spraying to create a faux binding, 3 Lollar or Fralin Single Coils in a pickguard, master vol/master tone, 5 way switch, rosewood fretboard, maple neck with sunburst tinting, 3x3 locking tuners, GraphTech Ghost bridge/trem assembly, bone nut. In OSB. Yeah, that should do it.

I just thought I'd throw my wants and desires in here too: I would order a Golden Eagle to the following specs; For reasons I can't quite understand, and I will ask Marv to explain, I have yet to see a Golden Eagle made to full spec size. I now have 3 . . 2 are 16-7/8" and the one that was custom made for me measures only 16-3/4" None of the rim depths quite reach 3 full inches. My custom is a full 1/4" shore of 3". I would order a GE at 17-1/4" X 3-1/4" SPOT ON!! The finger board would have the Super Eagle split block inlay instead of the cloud inlay, and the center inlay of the 3 piece split blocks at the 1st, 5th and 9th frets would be abalone, all else would be MOP. The F hole would be multiple bound, BWB instead of just single bound white. It would have a single 4 point mounted Duncan Antiquity, with volume and tone controls out side of the F holes near to the rim, instead of inside of the F holes. The binding would be cream colored instead of white. The tail piece would be the older style with the ebony insert but without the plastic shield that says "Golden Eagle". Possibly a flur de lis inlay instead. The sound board would be of a Master Grade sitka with an extermely tight grain with absolutely no grain run out. It would be X braced and tap tined by Aaron Cowles. The rims and back would also be of a Master Grade maple, preferably ribbon curl and not fiddle back or bubble. The neck would be of Master Grade rock maple, 3 piece instead of 5 piece. The back of the head stock would have a bound volute and an inlay, similar to the Citation. If Floyd is still up to it, I would insist on having him shade the guitar . . . color to be determined, but more than likely it would be a tobacco or an antique sunburst. Input jack would be on the lower rim (ala Gbrand) instead of in the end pin. Pick guard would be their Johnny Smith shaped pick guard made from ebony wood and mulit bound wbw. I would also order a 2nd pick guard, the traditional Golden Eagle style, made in curly maple and shaded to match the top

Man . . . . I should have never done this. Now I'm gonna order the damn thing. Just when I thought I had enough Golden Eagles. I guess I'll be driving up to Kzoo to have a sit down with Marv & Vince. I've got to go to visit with Aaron Cowles in the next couple of weeks to check on the progress of my 18" American Classic that he's making for me. I'll just go another 25 or so minutes up the road to Kzoo and order the damn thing. Is there a cure for this thing you guys call GAS???

Posted

absolutely no known cure for GAS; antidote, to relieve symptoms, seems to be deep bank account or line of credit ! B)

as of this moment, i have my heritage and a carvin on order and i am putting $ down today on a (second) rickenbacker!

i used to have some home equity (but i'm not complaining)!

:D:D OK , OK.... I know.... those didn't come out as planned... at least 212MavGuy appreciates the beauty of the bizarre..

And back on point... The three areas that would be fun to play with on a custom order....

Finish (something really unique),

Pickups (lots to choose from out there), and

Inlays (might be expensive to get really creative , but oh the possibilities)
