Pickguard support

1997 H535 do they all have a pick guard support that reaches over the edging, I'm looking at one and according to the owner is stock, I found gentelman on you tube playing a 535 with no sign of a sopport but all otheres I've seen have one thanks

My 535 has the pickguard installed. Besides the screws, there is a metal bracket that screws into the side.

I have 2 535s. One has the bracket on the edge and one does not. I had a '96 535 that didn't have the bracket.

 

I suspect people wanted to remove the pickguards and didn't want the hole on the top. Heritage addressed that issue bu putting the hole on the side via bracket as a compromise. Just my guess, I am not a real a-feces-anato on the subject.

I don't see why people hate the bracket so much. It's like hating the knobs.
