So I have had a little more time to play the H555 plugged it. I am very impressed with the HRW pickups and the controls on the guitar. Most guitars that I play have a useless tone system. I rarely even touch the tone know because you move it just a little and it sucks all the tone out of the guitar. I spend most of the time playing with it all the way up. Not on this guitar. These pickups are really hot. The bridge pickup is almost earsplitting and harsh, but when you turn the tone down a little, it softens up while still retaining its characteristics. I found that the middle position is by far the best sound, especially once you start messing around with the volume controls and tone knobs. Turn down the neck pickup volume for a brighter sound, or roll back the bridge pickup to get that nice warm sound but still having the treble to cut through a mix. All positions sounds good both overdriven as well as clean. I used to own a 1990 Gibson Les Paul with Classic 57's and would always have to switch from the middle position to the bridge only pickup whenever I turned on some dirt or else it would get really muddy. Anyways, that is just my two cents on the guitar so far. Too bad Heritage doesn't make tele style guitars, because I am really in the market for one of those right now.
