Heritage Custom shop?

Hi there Heritage fans. I've got a custom shop H-575. I was wondering if anyone has any information about custom shop guitars such as who works in the custom shop and where it is, and what makes these guitars different such as materials, special order etc. How many custom shop guitars are made in a year? Mine is a natural, with a spruce top, maple sides, and one seth lover h-bucker in the neck position. Also has a non tunomatic rosewood bridge. Everyone thinks this guitar sounds great, and it's become my main squeeze over several gibsons. I play jazz, blues, and funk. There's no Heritage dealers in my city, and I found it used in a local shop.

Randy,

Welcome to the HoC. You need to post a picture of your guitar. Otherwise you get the dreaded "where's the pics" icon thingy. So, please, give us a look at your guitar. Sounds like a killer specimen.

Heritage Custom Shop - the whole danged plant is a custom shop! It's in Kalamazoo, MI. Right where the old Gibson plant was before it moved out (yay!!) The guitars that get the custom shop label is as of yet, a bit of a mystery. Altho' it's been offered that stores that custom order a specific mod to a guitar get the custom shop sticker; such Lollars in a guitar that should get SD59s, or an ebony board instead of RW, things like that.

Funny enough, those of us that have ordered custom made Heritages did not get the custom shop sticker. :D So, there won't be a specific number of CS guitars made in a year, or from a particular model. Altho' there are special runs, such as the 25th Anni's, the matched sets, things like that. And there will be specific numbers of those made, generally stamped in the headstock as to which number it was.

Randy; One of the main differences and qualities of Heritage is that the whole plant is a custom shop!! This is not a mass production . . . assembly line type of operation. Most everything they do is "custom shop" type build

Hey Randy,

The whole place is very custom. Even the stock guitars. Here are some pics from inside the factory. Try not to get too much saw dust on you.

You guys should put together a coffee table (Shutterfly or whatever) book for us noobies. The photos coupled with interviews of workers/employees/owners would go a long way to eliminating some general confusion and helping us up the learning curve. Some really interesting stuff going on there that would really help explain what it's "all about."

At least do a calendar.

Something.

Where have you been? We have a calendar online waiting for you. The idea of interviews would be great. I might get into that this year with some help.

The photo with the broken guitar with the clock inside is ready to take to Staples for a calendar to be added and printed.

:o

These are really templates that the printer will put into some calendar software. Staples was my guide because I am there so much I know most of the staff. I wish I had some decent calendar software. I would be dangerous......

Thanks for sharing these great pics!!!

I would really really really love to join PSPIII. But I am from Germany and my wife would not be pleased if I spend our holiday money on my own for a trip to Kalamazoo.
