koula901 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Hi All, My name is Koula. I'm a lefty player, and have a 150 on order through Jerry's lefty guitars in florida. I can't wait till it gets here. I also wanted an H 137 DC, as I've discovered the joys of P 90s, but alas, my condo is way too noisy for them. I haven't played guitar since the early '80s, so, I'm busy getting my chops together and finding people to jam with - I can't wait. My other ax is an olympic white mexi strat (I call it my Jimi guitar), that I'm tricking out with Suhr vl60s, and a back plate to cut down on noise. I've learned a lot about guitars and equipment from the internet. I wish we had the internet in the 70s - it would have been a great help. I used to spend hours figuring out chords and lyrics to songs, and now I can get them in a matter of minutes on the computer. The other great thing is connecting with the guitar community on the net. In the Boston area, there are some folks who consider themselves part of the Red Sox Nation. Well, I feel there are so many guitarists out there, that we could form the Guitar Nation! : ) Cheers, everyone, and Rock On! Koula
chico Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Let me be the first to welcome you, a great group of folks who love guitars made in Kalamazoo. When you get yours, be sure to post pics asap. Enjoy the fellowship and welcome.
H Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Hi Koula, you've chosen well both in guitar brands and forums Welcome in.
FredZepp Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Welcome Koula ! You'll love your 150 I am sure. And I agree about the amazing amount of info on the internet. There are an endless supply of places to surf.... life is good...! And now you've found the best forum on the net.... the HOC..
Spectrum13 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Welcome.... you will love your 150 and want more..... Heritage
koula901 Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Hey FredZepp, Is that a 150 inn Almond Sunburst, you have there? That's the same color I ordered mine in. I looked at all the pics in the Gallery sections, it looks like there can be some variation - but then, when things are done by hand, you can expect that. I, too, ordered it without the pick guard, but then got a little nervous about it. Jerry said he'll have them put it in the case, and I can add it later on if I feel I need it. Do you miss not having the pick guard? Only reason I ask is this is my first LP style guitar - I notice the pick guard is up quite high (compared to strats/teles which I'm more used too). Thanks for the welcome. I'll be sure to upload a pic once I get it.

The one in Antique SB turns from brown to redish in bright light and I like to photograph it in sunlight to show the flame a bit better.

Koula Hi and Welcome to the HOC, also greetings from Ireland and a fellow lefty player. I had my 137, bought used, fitted with Fralin hum cancelling P-90s. They are great pickups and also noise free. A very prominent HOC member, ( ), recently had a 137 DC custom built and fitted with the same pickups in the factory. I'm sure he will chime in with some pics, in the meantime here's one of mine.
koula901 Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Yes, Southpaw, howdie! I've seen your posts - YOUR A BUSY GUY! ; ) Don't be telling me about a 137 w/noise cancelling Fralins, that is too tempting! The one I tried out had Lollar P 90s - any thoughts about how the Fralins compare to the Lollars? I'll never forget trying out the 137 at the store. At first I tried the 150 and was thoroughly impressed. Then I tried the 137 w/Lollars and I was totally mesmerized and couldn't put it down, and thoroughly impressed with the wide range of sounds - this guitar can play any style of music. And I noticed that when combining the two pickups, it sounded very close to the 150. Nice pic, by the way! I'm afraid getting my first Heritage is gonna turn me into a collector of them with terrible GAS! If I ever hear a 137 with noise cancelling pups that I like, I shall have to have one for myself. . . and then a 553 . . . does it ever end! Btw, do you know if they've set a date for the next pilgrimage?
