Blunote Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 This can't be on the level. Anyone ever bought an instrument this way? Scam site?
golferwave Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Looks like a total scam to me. Where the heck is Guangdong?
golferwave Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Ah...just looked it up on google. Guangdong is a Chinese province. Run for the hills and don't look back.
slider313 Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 No thanks. It looks to me like what you see isn't going to be what you get.
CJTopes Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Its a site located in China. "IF" you actually get something that you order it's more than likely a counterfeit copy. I think this is the same site where I saw several Counterfeit Gibson LPs. Rule #1 If it sounds to good to be true it probably is.....
GuitArtMan Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Great, now the Chinese are faking Heritages. What next? Hey buddy, wanna buy a Rolls Royce cheap?
SouthpawGuy Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 They're using pics from legit dealers .... check out this lefty 70s strat http://www.tradetang.com/for-sale/FENDER-S...66-2063702.html and it's legit listing ... http://www.groovyguitar.com/77ashstratleft.htm
FredZepp Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Of course , we've all seen the $ 329 Gibson Les Pauls for a while now ... They are allowed to duplicate anything in a Chinese factory. But this is the first Heritage Chinese knock-off that I have seen... wow. I didn't think that we were on their radar for this kind of thing. I wish that we had a bunch of good pics of one to note what to look for to detect the fakes. You'd know it was a fake when you held it in your hands. And the pics can be either way... of a real or a fake.... but you will receive only a fake from them when you order.... sad.
schundog Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 C'mon, guys, it's 100% new electricity guitar!! A Heritage H-150 CM Classic les paul Guitar!! What's not to like!! nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!!
pushover Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 What is it they say.. Imitation is the best form of flattery. Bottom line. They wouldn't imitate it unless they knew it would generate the recognition to make money off it.

A friend of mine bought a Custom Gibson Les Paul from this site. From the stage it looks like a $4000 guitar but it only cost him $350. It is a knock off Chinese version. The quality is that of a $350 guitar. They are not worth buying unless you are looking to put one on the wall as a decoration. Somebody may want to mention it to Vince as I am sure what they are doing is illegal as hell, plus Vince is a good attorney. Hopefully Vince will sue the hell of them.

In China they do not recognize these trademarks/patents. Which is why even Gibson hasn't been able to stop them.
nachogrande Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 The body probably built by low density chipboard plus flame maple sticker and polyesther onto it
Assumer Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Spent three weeks in china. You can get anything you want. The copy everything they can get their hands on.
AnH555 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 We actually discussed this once before and I think Heritage knows about it. Looks pretty cheesy to me.

mhz Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 China has knockoffs for everything... even food. Imagine buying a burrito off a taco truck made of cardboard pieces cooked and flavored to taste like chicken..
tbonesullivan Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 ugh. the problem is simple: the chinese will copy anything. It's like Japan was back in the 60's-70's, but without the quality. A lot of companies have either opened or contracted plants in China. Then they turn around and use the machinery and what they've learned to pump out knockoffs as well, as they can sell them directly for more money than the overseas companies pay for them. They are doing it with all kinds of instruments, from guitars to trombones to violins to drums to whatever else they can get their hands on.
hiro Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Yes true, the Russian weapons dealers with MiG and Sukoi airplane companies found out the hard way when China learned how to copy their aircraft. I love some of the quotes . . . Description: This brand new guitar. The sound of this guitar is absolutely marvelous. I believe this instrument will please most discriminative professional player. This professonal guitar is compelely new and nice. New Google babel fish has professional translation quality from Mandarin to English. 100%new electricity guitar It's powered by electricity!!! FENDER STRATOCASTER STRAT ASH LEFTY LEFT HANDED Might be able to get away with lefty left lingo selling hiphop or rap paraphernalia, but not guitars. Yo man lookie to my lefty, DJ Panorama spinning pretty . . . like Jessica Biel on the wheels of steel, two wrongs in the technics make righty rights fo sho'
FredZepp Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 China and copyright piracy The Foreign Ministry has dismissed as "groundless" U.S. accusations that China is failing to crack down on copyright piracy, ahead of talks with top U.S. officials next week, Xinhua News Agency reported on Saturday. Hmmm ... really?
