Which Heritage would be your choice for Rockabilly and Blues?

I need your 2 cents here fellas: I'm not after a jazzbox tone, but only rockabilly, rock'n roll and blues. Heritage is my first choice always, but which model can be compared to Gretsch 6120 Brian Setzer sig or Guild X-500T tonewise? I haven't tried any hollow body other than 535 as a Heritage, so please enlighten me.

Thanks in advance.

I love them in the 575, real big sound on the p-90, and real hot sound on the series humbucker, + a little twang on the rail. I don't use the rail that much.

the p-rail has four sounds, p-90, nice big fat, rail coil, twangy, humbucker parallel nice clean sound with good mids, and series humbucker hot and gritty.. I had clips up for a while but they disappeared when the host site went belly up..

Yes sure, and you can always use my personal server to store them.

Is 575 a full hollow body or does it have a block in the middle?

Sounds great, thanks  Is that middle block a big deal? I think 530 has one.

Easy. H550. It is VERY VERY similar to a 6120. Ebony fingerboard. The rest is maple. The only difference.. really.. is the pickups. Get some TV Jones Classics with the humbucker mount. Bingo.

This isn't to say that this is the only guitar to do rockabilly. Hell, you can do that with SG as it is all in your fingers.

But since you mentioned the 6120, this is the one I found to be the closest and I honestly believe it was made to be Gretsch-ish as it is so close.

If you are going for the Setzer sound... then....

H550, Bigsby, roller bridge, TV Jones Classics with the humbucker mount and you can get the Gretsch wiring with the Tone switch. I am sure the K'zoo boys will do all this. :D

Hey Nacho..you mentioned the blues also..It's my first love musically, and i think a P-90 equipped H-137 (thanks Brent) just nails it!! It can do sweet clean middle position tunes and scorching SRV style Texas blues.. My 2 cents..

smurph I have a 150 goldtop with p90s and I love her very much, but I have a f hole fetish (No, not the other one) :D

Here's a demo of one of the best rockabilly players out there on a Heritage...

eljay, I'd love to hear that information. Eventhough 530 sits in hollow body section at the Heritage website, the info says it is semi-hollow. That's why I am confused.

Gitfiddler, great guitar, great play indeed. Which model did he take as a base?

That's basically a customized H550 made to his specs. Wolfe has one at his website for sale.

this, too, is from the wolfeguitars website: http://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-h530-2009-cherry-1

description is that it is a full hollow. i spoke with HOC's own dennis weaver ("orangepicker," i believe) in the process of ordering my h530 and he assured me that the h530 is H's take on the gibson es-330.

i noted, too, that the H website seemed to be contradictory regarding the 530. eljay

Yes sir!

I was big into rockabilly for a few years and, of course, owned a couple of Gretsches. I modified them all to be more or less like Setzers models. I am down to one now and doesn't even begin to resemble a setzer model. If it is the Setzer type of guitar but in Heritage you are looking for, then the 550 with a few hardware tweaks is your man. However, all of the models mentioned by everyone can do Rockabilly. :D

Thanks eljay.

Barry, yes that's the beauty of Heritage I bet  Ok then find me a good 550 with bigsby and all the stuff to be needed for setzer tone, or, make one for me :D

By the way, I asked to Brent if he could look for hollow bodies when he find some spare time to be around around the H factory, or maybe mint 2nd hands around him. You know he is a H magnet
