golferwave Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 OK gang...Here's the last of my H-150's and she's a beauty. Burnt Amber, 500K CTS pots, Sprague "Black Beauty" .022uF - 400v capacitors, 50's wiring, Bone nut, and Tom Short "Marc Ford" wind PAF humbuckers. A big thanks to Brent for selling me this fabulous H-150. Forgive the missing knob in the first picture. I just got this one back today from the pickups, nut, caps, pots, change out and missed getting that one back on. I'll post a group picture of all 8 just as soon as I have the time to take them...maybe early next week. Thanks.
nachogrande Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 It looks gorgeous at the 1st photo. God, I love those knobs.
fxdx99 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Big smile - oh yeh, another beauty. Congrats on your 'new' guitar and all setup with prime pickups and components. Woncerful collection you have, Scott - just stellar!
FredZepp Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I remember that beauty.... I really like that one, great top and all. It's a good thing to acquire guitars formerly in the BrentRocks collection. They are some good ones.
111518 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 A friend of mine says "a bunch of guitars without a theme isn't a collection, it's an accumulation." A nice collection of 150s you've got there, Golferwave.
ronalr Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Another beauty..you have an outstanding collection my friend...I really enjoyed the pictures.....which one do you play the most?
pegleg32 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 The last week or so, as you have introduced us to your collection, has been very enjoyable golferware. Great guitars and great porn.
golferwave Posted May 22, 2010 Author Posted May 22, 2010 Another beauty..you have an outstanding collection my friend...I really enjoyed the pictures.....which one do you play the most? I play them all, but recently the favored one has been the Burnt Amber Lightweight with gold hardware and Seth Lovers that I got from TS. With this latest one coming home I'm sure it will now be getting a workout. These Tom Short pickups are just killer! As one of our favorite members is fond of saying "They're the note" Thanks for recommending them to me Rob, and thanks to Kuz and the others for recommending them to Rob!
Kuz Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Scott, it's kind of like an ending to a good book that you never wanted to end....... GREAT collection! And for the record... Mike Ricca (Slider 13) recommended the Tom Shorts to me, so he was that one that started all this PUAS (pickup acquisition syndrome)!
zookroo1 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Time to put the wide angle lens on for a shot of the whole group. Sweet collection!
brentrocks Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Ahhhh yesss...that is an awesome 150 there! Killer top! ..."stay thirsty my friend"...
shook494 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I just went back through and looked at all of them again. Awesome collection. Makes me want to cry! Thanks for sharing.
yoslate Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 And for the record... Mike Ricca (Slider 13) recommended the Tom Shorts to me, so he was that one that started all this PUAS (pickup acquisition syndrome)! I remember Mike talking about Tom and his pickups when Mike, Larry, and I got together last Christmas. He gave a very authoritative hard sell. Then John related his experiences with the Shorts. Then I actually talked with Tom. Those three, on tone! I just channelled; I couldn't go wrong! And I now have a set of Tom's Windy City p'ups in my Tele. Definitive Tele tone! Haven't gigged any guitars but my two Tom Short equipped planks in over two months, nearly twenty shows! Thanks again to Mike and John. I love this place!
