Hello board im new here but been playing over 20 years. I got my first heritage about 6 months ago and it instantly became my main guitar. Im thinking of buying another heritage already and was wondering if the neck dimensions are the same on different models. Mine is a h150 with what Gibson would call a slim taper 60 s neck. I would like a 137 with p90 s if the neck is the same or at least close. Thanks

Hey Trouble, welcome to the HoC. Uh ... where're the pics of your guitar? Tsk tsk, can't post as a newb without pictures. ....... ;)

What year is your 150? The necks vary quite a bit from decade to decade. Some of the late '90s/early '00s could get quite slim. Very much like the neck you describe. As of late, Heritage is making the necks a bit fatter. Someone might be able to give you the actual dimensions, but I'd call it closer to a '59 - not slim, not baseball. If you were of the mind to order a new guitar, you can specify the neck you want. Keeping in mind that the necks are finished by hand. Which, of course, means they'll vary somewhat.

So now .... where're the pics of your 150?

Hey Trouble Welcome to the HOC..I have a single cut H-137 with Lollar P-90's..ABSOLUTELY SWEET guitar..the pickups are chimey with lots of sustain..As far as the neck profile goes..It's not a baseball bat, but it's not a tele neck either..But remember, if you want to order it, they will make the neck of your dreams..Enjoy the addiction.. ;)

Welcome to the HOC , Trouble...

I agree with the previous posts... handmade necks vary a bit and the newer ones will tend to be a tad bit thicker than the older ones... you can custom spec the neck that you want if it's made to order.

They tend to be neither ultra thick or ultra thin , unless you order that way.

They are done by hand... gallery_342_6_2641587.jpg

so.... tell us more about the 150 that you have..... ;)

Mine is a 05 model its not what i would call a small neck but i have an SG standard with the 50 s neck that feels quite a bit wider than the heritage. I guess its about as wide as a strat with more of a thicker u shape. Its a pretty tobacco burst with some light figuring. I will work on putting on pic im on cell right now though. Thanks for input!

If you want a new Heritage with the same neck dimensions as the one you have then it is best to measure the thickness of the neck at the 1st fret and the 12th fret and give them those dimensions. Current neck dimensions are aprox. .860" thick a the 1st fret and .960" thick at the 12th fret. Heritage started to make necks to those dimensions around the end of 2009. The new neck dimensions are still thinner than a real 1950's Gibson neck. Most 50's Les Paul necks average .900" thick at the first fret and 1.00" thick at the 12th fret. You will find a little variation in the 50's but not by much. I have never seen them vary more than + or - .015"

Welcome to the HOC. The people here rock as much as the guitars, so you have found a great resource! My vote would be for the H137 in Korina. Tone to the bone!

As others have said... Heritage is a Custom Guitar Company. Measure waht size neck you want and include it with the order. They will nail your dimensions!

Welcome Trouble!

Wow!

I never thought I'd see anybody welcoming trouble! Certainly not with this veracity and frequency.

Thanks everyone I was actually thinking of buying another used guitar the last new one I bought was the SG and I think I yed to much for it. I like a neck that is substancial just not to wide and thin from what you guys say sounds like I would be in good shape with any Heritage so thanks. Think I,ll be picking up a 137 pretty soon.
