nat120 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Hi Guys, I am buying some pedals from a guy through Craigs and want to use Paypal so it only costs $5. I cannot remember where the option is, can some one help?
Dick Seacup Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Log in to Paypal with your account. Click on the "Send Money" tab at the top. Enter the seller's email address or mobile phone number in the first box, enter the amount in the second box. On the "Purchase" tab underneath the amount, select "Goods". Alternately, you can click the "Personal" tab and select "Money Owed." I've never done that, though and don't have any idea what protections (or not) it offers. Click on "Continue" and keep on truckin'...
golferwave Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 The payment option that only costs the seller $5.00 was called Echeck. Takes 3-5 days to clear instead of being instant.
Dick Seacup Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I never knew they had that option. I always just pay with my credit card (so's I can reverse it if Paypal ever jacks me around).

nat120 Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 what's up with paypal? Are you protected if you buy with the $5 option? Paypal jacks people around? Stop the presses!
kbp810 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Paypal jacks people around? Stop the presses! That's news to me! They obviously had my best interests in mind when I just sold an amp on the bay and they put a 21 day hold on the funds... even got to pay the $65 for shipping out of my own pocket as a result! (not to mention the generous chunk of change they're keeping for themselves of course) I haven't sold anything on there in a long long time, now I remember why. - nat20, sorry felt the need to go on a quick rant for something that pretty much had nothing to do with your post Paypal usually has little notes here and there during a transaction that lets you know what your protection (if any) would be. Personally, I don't think I've ever sent someone a payment via paypal that wasn't a merchant or for an ebay transaction, so not able to speak directly to your situation... but I'm pretty sure they will still offer dispute resolution services - and if your also paying via credit card you should also be covered under your cards protections as well.
