peacemaker Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 So, here's the deal . . . my wife's family has had a place on Lake Michigan for generations. We go up there every year. Beach, bicycles, fishing, relaxing . . . for a southern boy like me, it's almost like going to the beach! ;-) Actually, it IS going to the beach . . . Anyway, I just realized that I'll be right around the corner from guitar Mecca! Now that I actually OWN a Heritage, I can't be that close and not at least TRY to visit the place. Now I know Heritage has a business to run and they probably have more than their desired share of guitar wing-nuts like me trying to slip in for a peek at "where the magic happens." I wonder if they have any kind of a "factory tour" for guitar stalkers? I don't want to take up anybody's valuable time or steal any trade secrets or whatever . . . I just want to see the place my honey was born. So, at the very least, I'll park outside the building and take some pics . . . which really would make me feel like a stalker. I'd like to be more "legit." But I'll stand in the street with my camera like a moron if I have to!
FredZepp Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 They are used to people taking pics , I would think ... it IS Mecca and a historic building . They do factory tours.. I forget the days etc. ... I'm sure that others may remember, but I would bet in the end that you'll just need to call to arrange it. Oh , and mention that you're in the Heritage Owners Club up front...
brentrocks Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 i believe it is Wed afternoons at 1 pm...you should call first though. they are not open on fridays

There's a rumor that a whole slew of Heritage owners are planning to invade the factory early August. I'm sure if one were clever enough one could hide amongst the masses. It's sort of a secret, so "mum's" the word.

yoslate Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 But I'll stand in the street with my camera like a moron if I have to! Brent's pics (and Bird's, too!!) really capture the "ethos" of the place. The true afficianado really must worship at the shrine! Very gratifying just to walk through the joint and huff some wood glue and sawdust, then you'll get a reminder every time you sit with your hollowbody....
