tommy jo cote Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Hello Friends, If you would be so kind, I need advise. I am going to sell my H140 Goldtop. It has three small switches which split the pickups from Humbucker to single coil. Are these original or added on? Is it more valuable or less due to those switches? I wan to sell it at a fair price for both me and the buyer, so please be candid with your remarks. Pics are attached, it plays well and sounds great (to my humble abilities to judge). I also have a Tobacco Sunburst H140 that I am thinking is worth $875. Pics attached also, but again looking for advise on value. Thanks, Friends Sorry, tried to upload pics but there was only room for one. Not computer smart, so need advise with that as well. (Boy, I am really showing how stupid I am!)

FredZepp Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I'll give you a guess... $800- 1100. We see these sell for $800-950 on a regular basis... but the market is really fickle right now. You have to be just really lucky to get top dollar right now. In the last month I saw a Heritage sell for much more that I would have guessed and also one that sold for much less.... It's not a good market to sell, but sometimes the right person sees it and wants it. The switch system ( a VIP, I think ) would be factory installed and would usually add value to the guitar... the only down side is that some people prefer the toggle switch in the usual upper bout spot, others will appreciate the fantastic switching options.. Selling on craigslist means you must offer a more bargain price, while eBay would tend to sell for more.. if only to cover the fees. And , of course , good pics will usually help it to sell .

I agree. In most cases it's tough to get more than $900 for one of these. I've seen BIN prices above this (or opening bid) regularly close on ebay with no bids. But, of course, you only ever need one buyer!

I will list them on here in all likelyhood. One guy is considering them now, then we shall see. Thanks again, you were most helpful.
