mtpatty Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Just purchased a 2005 H-150 CM Classic- Control Cavity says 59, S on it...However, guy i purchased from on ebay says they are HRW pickups...toggle switch is cream with black dot...what am I to believe? thanks...btw Pics go up tonight when i get home from work...thanks... Mark
tbonesullivan Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 how many height adjustment screws are on the pickups? Schaller and HRW pickups have 4. SD pickups have 2.
brentrocks Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 you may need to look on the under side and see if they have the ren wall stickers on the back
mtpatty Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 4 Height adjustment screws...HRW (whew)! Thanks so much
Patrick Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 4 Height adjustment screws...HRW (whew)! Thanks so much The SD 59s wouldn't have been too big a disappointment for you. They're great PUs
tulk1 Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 4 Height adjustment screws...HRW (whew)! Thanks so much That still isn't truly conclusive. My Millie NFH has a dot on the switch tip. No HRW's. Best way to tell is to pull the pups during a string change. Easy enough to do, and will tell once and for all. Either way, bet it sounds sweet.
mtpatty Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 The SD 59s wouldn't have been too big a disappointment for you. They're great PUs I know, but I have them in another guitar already and was looking for a little tonal difference... 59's are good (in fact my only SD pups i like)...I really am a fan of the Bare Knuckle's ( I have the Mules in an Epi LP; VHII's in a Carvin CS4; Miracle Man's in a Heritage H 150; and Black Dogs in a G**son SG Std) I am wanting to try the WB Habeneros as well as the WCR Fillmore's! Mark Wow that is quite a smorgasbord of Bare Knuckles pickups that you have there... I am sure that the HRW's will deliver... maybe like the Mules ...or VHII's ? but then again quite a different guitar. ... when you have tried 'em out , let us know what you think.
Guest mgoetting Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I personally can't tell the difference between the Schallers and HRW. They are both made by Schaller and have the extra screws (which so far I haven't taken advantage of). The black and white toggle switch indicates HRWs.
