Guest mgoetting Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 The dealer ordered a custom finish he called caramel. That seems about right.
Guest mgoetting Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 There is no finish written on the label, just a number.
FredZepp Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 BEAUTIFUL... ... That is a great teaser pic... How about some more pics... and a tone report? It seems like Millies have chunky necks a lot of the time... this one? These are really hard to beat ... Nice one in a unique finish...!!!!
jazzrat Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 gorgeous! I've been listening to Wolfgang Muthspiel lately. He plays one of these, sounds amazing.

He gets wonderful tones out of his Heritage! (Glad you've joined the conversation jazzrat. Very nice to have another jazz fan around these parts!)
Guest mgoetting Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 looks like burnt amber to me Nope. I have a burnt amber and that has some orange in it.
Guest mgoetting Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 These are all cell phone shots. They show the carved back, laminate maple neck, and color. It's a 2000.
Kuz Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Like everybody has said.... love the color and LOVE THE INLAYS!!!

Guest mgoetting Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Nice. What year is that. Is the H tailpiece back? 2000 I don't know when they stopped making the Eagle. I haven't seen this tailpiece on any other Millenium. There are many Heritage historians here who could better answer.

They still make it.. there is a newer one with a ass crazy quilt at Delorto http://www.delortoguitar.com/millennium_eagle.asp# But hey Heritage will build you any guitar model you want, that's why there so great they are just one big custom shop... The only millies that are no longer made are the original run LTD editions. The eagle LTD I believe came with the finger style tail piece. Oh congrats, that is one spectacular guitar... love the inlays...

That does not mean they built any in 2008 -2009. When I got my 155 (January 2008) I asked about how the Eagle differed compaired to the Millie Ultra and 155. Eagles had the tailpiece and carved back.

There are a couple of differences in addition. The top binding is multilaminate, the neck is three piece maple, the tuning keys are audacious, the inlays are on acid. It looks like the guitar is a browner version of burnt amber. The dealer who ordered it asked for it to be more caramel compared to what the catalog photo showed, so I'm guessing the 2000 catalog showed burnt amber. The dealer tag says burnt amber but the label in the guitar doesn't state a finish, just a number. I looked at it a bit closer. The model is Eagle 2000 per the label. The serial number begins with W, so it's a 2006. The store price tag is $4180. I assume that's the catalog price for the year.

The action is low, just like all the others I've played, which are only the ones I have. It has Seths on it. The strings are from the factory and need to be changed before assessing tone. I can see some corrosion on them.

You've got it all wrong, as jeff tweedy would say "corrosion is added TONE, never change your strings man " of course thats why I never let jeff play my guitars...
H Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Very, very nice OSB is my favourite finish but the lighter 'yellow-browns' like this and ASB are chasing hard in second What kind of tuners are those?
