eljay Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Here's a group shot (I hope) of some of my "crew" with the new H150 in the center wow . . . very nice!
DC Ron Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 FANTASTIC collection! Need you to borrow a hi res camera so that we can fully appreciate the details!
tulk1 Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Your new 150 looks a bit like a fish out of water amongst all those hollows and semi's!
big bob Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 when does your music store open? Looks like a nice bunch...
Patrick Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 wow. very impressive. Thanks . . . . not trying to impress . . . . just trying to (finally) share some pics with you guys
Patrick Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 FANTASTIC collection! Need you to borrow a hi res camera so that we can fully appreciate the details! No doubt on the high res camera. The one I have is a secondary feature on my Sharp video cam. I always thought that the poor picture quality was do to my ignorance of photography and being too lazy to read the instructions manual. I went to a camera shop and they told me that all cameras like mine, those that were intended to be a video cam first and a still cam as a convenience, were not designed with the highest res components for stills. I don't know if that's true, or if the technology has since improved (this cam is at least 8 years old) . . . . but I'm gonna buy a good high res digital cam (if I can ever stop spending money on guitars) and also a wide angle lens. But hey . . . at least I finally figured out how to get some pics up on the forum.
ronalr Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Great family photo...you have a really nice collection Patrick...which one do you play the most?
FredZepp Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 It's so cool to see so many great Heritage guitars in one place... A picture that usually could only be taken in a music store.
barrymclark Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Hm...I am feeling a bit inadequate here. I will have to break out photoshop and make a similar picture... with twice as many guitars! haha. Helluva collection you got going there!
Patrick Posted July 25, 2010 Author Posted July 25, 2010 Great family photo...you have a really nice collection Patrick...which one do you play the most? That's a great question! I find myself going for my original, first ever Heritage, over everything else. It's a 1994 Golden Eagle, blonde with a single mounted Schaller pup. Pretty much a plain vanilla guitar with no special features. Plays like a dream and sounds classic. After that, I pretty much try to play as many as I can. I'm one of these idiots that thinks these guitars are alive and they have feelings . . . . and if I don't spend at least a little time with them, they will feel dejected and neglected. There . . . . now you all have it!! I'm a certifiable wacko. But I have a genuine fear of offending my guitars if I show favoritism of one over another.

That's right, Patrick. Not much noteworthy about a GE. Don't know why they bothered making it. Probably had some leftover parts and extra time on their hands. Or one of their sons put it together for a Boy Scout merit badge. Maybe a scratching post for an employees cat. Who knows? Someone is a little bit spoiled, my friend!

Gotta spend some time with them all so they know they are appreciated and loved!

Mark . . . .I don't know what you might have read in my post that leads you to believe that I take my 1994 GE for anything other than an absolutely wonderful guitar. I'm almost as fond of it as I am of my penis. That's why I answered that I probably go to it more than any other guitar. Perhaps you're put off because I described it as a "plain Vanilla guitar??" Here's a news falsh for you . . . . it's a plain vanilla guitar!!! There's no special binding, color, sizing, inlays, or any other hoopla. It's a GE, plain and simple. Get a fucking grip!!! I don't know what it is, but I sense some kind of a resentment or hostility in your replies to my posts . . . . . and I don't like it! If you've got a problem with me, or with something that I might have said in one of my posts, then let me know. If I have somehow offended you, I assure you that it was unintentional. "Someone is a little spoiled???" What the hell are you talking about??? My 1994 GE is the least ornate and most plain archtop I own . . . but I love it more that the most ornate and most elaborate arch top I own. That's all I said in response to a question. Maybe I need to clear my answers through you before I post them to see if they meet with your approval.?.? If my posts bother you then stop reading them.
zookroo1 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Wow, that's a lot of guitar stands... Oh yeah, the guitars are pretty sweet too!

There's nothing plain Jane about a GE, but I understand completely what you mean. It's an average GE. And yes, you do need to clear your answers with me.
Hfan Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Hey Patrick, Beautiful collection..looks like guitar heaven to me. I too have some of those feelings that a musical instrument has something like a soul/ mojo..fill in the blanks. I try to impart that philosophy to my kids as well, especially when they get rough around their instruments or mine for that matter. I'm ashamed that most of my collection spends pretty much all their time in their cases. Still doing the career change deal...too much time studying , family responsibilities etc. My offer still stands, feel free to contact me, I have a high end Nikkon (no wide angle lens though). Bring a guitar or two over and we'll take some photos and upload them, you could even start a free photo bucket account to store and share photos. Just don't let me play any, or I'll be adding to my already unplayable collection. Also, never tell me where you live, the temptation would be too strong to resort to guitar thievery, and would probably result in my demise LOL. Regards, Pete

I agree that we are too near to each other for us not to get together one day. I think you said that you're in Brick . . . right?? Send me a PM with your personal email and tele # we'll chat again to see what we can set up. I know the feeling about time limitations and prioritizing career and earnings over increasing our guitar skills. It's frustrating to be sure. But, then I remind myself . . . . it is we who choose to do something other than study guitar and play and perform. My apologies for the temporary hijacking and side bar conversation with Hfan. We'll take it off line.
jrfreed Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Jeesh...this thread took a wild left turn (obligitory disclaimer: mentioning the word "left" by no means implies a value judgement ond/or derogatory stance on anyone's views or political affiliations)

TalismanRich Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 WOW I think I see a little bit of ENVY in Brent's eyes. It's ok, Brent. You don't HAVE to have the most guitars all the time!
