pegleg32 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Hey Patrick, that is a beautiful collection, I would love to hear you strum them, I bet you do them justice. Oh, just one thing, I am an extreme leftist, the anarchists are a little too conservative for me, but that doesn't prohibit me from enjoying fine guitars and fine playing. Politics don't play a large roll in who I choose to enjoy music with. I suspect I would get a real charge out of hearing you play.

I think I might regret trying to get as many of my guitars as I could into one shot. It wasn't meant to be an act of bragging rights. As for your extreme leftist position . . . . no worries. We all tolorate each other here, with an occasional harmless and purely humorous and fun intended barb thrown here and there. Guitar playing skills . . . . that's a whole 'nother thing. I'm once again studing and wood shedding after a 15 year lull. I'm trying to make myself worthy of these beautiful guitars. I only wish I started out years ago with my current jazz instructor. What a difference a good teacher makes. He's a Berkely grad, and he has incorporated the teaching styles of Bill Leavitt with his own. It was kind of like the sky opening up for me. For years and years I studied how to practice and play guitar . . . and I became quite good at it. I just never learned how to make good music, other than as a rythm guitarist in top forties cover bands. What a change the past 6 months has made for me. Hopefully one day I will deserve to own this growing collection. Until that time, I'll just enjoy my skill level as it improves . . . and enjoy the "visual art" aspect of these guitars
JWALKER Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Can I be your new adopted son, Pleeeease! If I had all of your guitars, even the economy would look good.
mark555 Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 what a stunning collection of guitars, there must be at least one millionaire amongst we lesser mortals!

I'm actually not that big a lefty, I spent 4 years in the Navy during the Vietnam era, and my son-in-law is in the Army as we speak. I take a lot of pride in my military service and I'm pretty darn proud of my son-in-law also. I have to admit, I'm very envious of what you have and are achieving along the spectrum of guitar skills. I would dearly love to have access to a good teacher, but at this point I'm still limited to internet and dvd instruction. Forgive me for the earlier overstatement, I have a tendency to want to challenge folks at the extremes, and your response was very astute and appreciated.
