Heritage H535 or H575 Custom. Both same price. Which one to get?

I have 2k in the budget to get a new guitar.

I always wanted a "335" style machine and I always wanted an ES-175 as well. These two Heritage models are really tempting me. Both are under 2k.

The H535 is way under 2k (it's been hanging around Wolfe for a while). It's that neat translucent orange and has Seth Lovers in it.

The H575 hand-carved front and back Custom is also under 2k (guy ordered it but didn't like the new tailpiece so they are trying to unload it) and it's equipped with Seth Lovers as well (love the sound of them).

Which one? I need help!

Thanks!

If I were you , I would strongly consider what type of music is going to be played on it... and decide based on that answer.

Both look to be exceptional Heritage axes and I don't think that you'd make a mistake with either one.

Personally , I'd like the more shallow depth of the 535.... but like the idea of playing a 575 just as well........

While I try to avoid recommending specific guitars to others, the 535 you are looking at is a very unique Trans Orange color. And you seem to be a non-comformist type, Mr. Red Johnny Smith. :D

If the other features on the 535 suit you (neck profile, etc) then my vote is to go for it.

Hey, Wolfe also has a long-hanging Trans Orange Milli that I've been lusting after for the same reason. I'm another non-comformist as far as gits go.

I think you are under estimating your wife's ability to be sympathetic to your dilemma. I seem to also remember you under estimating your wife's ability to see the beauty of your Johnny Smith Rose in translucent red . . . then she loved it. The H535 type guitar just might be the most versatile electric guitar in the world. You will be able to do many things with it that you can't do with a 575, and that one is beautiful. With that in mid, you should get the H535. However, that particular H575 seems a little special to me. It's got the block inlays and what looks like ebony finger board. The finish is just spectacular! With that in mind, you should get the H575. So then, not being able to make a correct decission . . . or an incorrect decission . . . you need to buy them both and play on your wife's good naturedness.

Much better deal on the 575 Custom.

If you are looking at this purely from a value stand point, it's a slam dunk for the 575 Custom!

At first blush I probably say the 535 for some tonal distance from your Johnny Smith but then again

lately I've been using my 575 Custom in a rock setting and it absolutely kills.

I guess it really boils down to which overlaps your other guitar(s) the least and

fits in with whatever music you are playing.

Long term and from a resale perspective I'd get the the 575 Custom

the 535 is at the top of the price range for that model, the 575 is at the bottom range for that model (and with the upgrades) a great deal..

Get them both! Seriously! Wolfe accepts layaways, so you can get the 575 now, and the 535 for Christmas.

I'd vote for the 575 but there are no losers here.

Somebody already said this..but here goes..Consider what style of music you will be playing,..The 575 would probably howl like a banshee in a high gain situation, whereas the 535 could handle it better..The 535 is more versatile as well..but hey, it's your money..My 2 cents..

I took a look at the site.. and I see what you mean....

the list for a 535 is $ 2970 the list on the 575 Custom is $ 4260 ... so we'd expect to pay less for the 535
