Patrick Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I just looked inside the controls cavity on my newly acquired H150. The label on the inside of the plastic cover says H150 Classic. I'm still unsure about all the suffixes . . . H150 CM, H150P, H150 Ultra . . . . and now H150 Classic. Is there any rhyme or reason to these suffixes???

Well, I know CM=Curly Maple; P=Poplar; Ultra had more to do with the hardware/fingerboard, i.e., gold, ebony; Classic? Probably as much to do with the pickup, if I recall. Since early on the Schaller was stock; '59s were "classic" ... I think. Whats in your 150?

I thought ultra was for the ultra top upgrade, or ultra flame package..
tulk1 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I thought ultra was for the ultra top upgrade, or ultra flame package..Is that it? Hard to tell the dif between Heritage Ultra Tops and Heritage Plain 'ol Top sometimes. ...........
chico Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 The "standard" H150 is the H150CM-CL That would be a curly maple top, and "classic" p/u, the Seymour Duncan 59s. It is the most common H150 model. The grade/flame of the top is not known until it is cut, obviously. Even the "curly maple" tops are premium, its just that some are MORE figured/flamed and thus can be upcharged. Trap inlays, non-bound headstock w/screened "the Heritage" in standard colors and creme binding (that really ages nicely) anything other is special order, like bound headstock or different pickups. Thus it is easy to be confused. Some of my favorite tops are the ones with little or no flame, but w/mineral streaks and other wood characteristics that give it the 'birds eye' name. that doesn't even account for the H150 Special (not made anymore) or the Ultras
barrymclark Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Mine is an H575KA. Guess what the KA stands for. That's right. Kickin' m'r f'n A!
blueox Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 The H150CMUltra also has HRW pickups and gold-plated hardware.
